The defensive players/coaches really sounded like a total dysfunctional shit show. Whoever comes in here really has to roll up his sleeves and command respect from some of these clowns. Breeland seems like the guy that's leading the clown show. If it is in fact Bradley then does that mean we're going back to the 4-3 full time/ base defense?

Hi everyone....My first post so go easy on me. I am new here but been a fan of the team for 40 years and was a Season tix holder from 2009-2012.
I don't know that Bradley is a no brainer.....I took a look at how the Jaguars Defense has been performing while he was there as HC and it isn't encouraging. Granted, he wasn't the DC but he had to have a heavy hand in the D overall. In 13 and 14 they were worse than the Jim Haslett lead Skins D in YPG, and 3rd D %, and both teams were bottom 5-7 in PPG allowed. In 15 Jax was worse than JBarry's Skins in PPG allowed and 3rd D % and both teams were among the league worst in YPG allowed with the Skins only 5 ypg better. in the 2016 season the Jags had the #6 overall defense in YPG allowed which is way better than the Skins but not as good as it sounds when you realize that, like the Skins, they were in the 5 worst in the league for PPG allowed. The Jags had a respectable 3rd D % this past year VS. the Skins historically bad 47% but I can't get excited about this small difference.
Bradley's D since he left Seattle seems to be about on par with Haslett and Barry. Doesn't seem like a good solution to me.
Welcome. But the Jaguars defense was 6th in yards allowed in 2016. If you want an explanation for why the points allowed was so rotten, look no further than the short fields that turnover machine Bortles put them in.

I can't even believe how many times we need to keep saying that it doesn't fucking matter whether we are a 3-4 or 4-3 base. Last year we played in a 4-3 more often than we played in a 3-4.

Welcome.. Nice first post and this is my feelings too. Where in Bradley's past has he made something respectable out of chicken shit? Never. He seems like a upbeat, good character type of guy. But the rah rah stuff only goes so far. On the flip side I do think he is motivator and that may be half of what we need. Some of these guys need someone to kick them in the ass and play harder/smarter.

If we have no talent on D next year we are in trouble anyways. Bradley can work with the type of talent SM likely beings in so I will be ok with that. I also like a HC that drops back down to DC as long as he can get along with Gruden which i dont think is an issue. I think they often get a wider perspective and it enhances there effectiveness as a DC.

This. I think it's actually better to get a guy who's dropped down from Head Coach to coordinator. It's valuable incite that can only make Gruden a stronger head coach IMO. Doesn't matter if he sucked or not.

No shit, I know that. I'm just wondering if the 3-4 will scrapped all together.
