I wish Cousins had the same attitude as Junior. But he has to worry about the poor QB'S that he doesn't know and will play for different teams. I have to take 26 million because the qbs after me can't live off 20 million. Still can't believe he said that dumb shit. I hate it, and I do hold it against him. He is perfect for living in DC with the rest of the BSers.

Nsekhe too
I thought he did a great job filling in where needed. He won't be an every down player so I don't think his age is that much of a concern. Good back-ups are hard to find, pay the man.

2017 NFL Free Agents Tracker | Spotrac (http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/free-agents/washington-redskins/)
Cousins, Garçon, D Jax, Chris Baker, Vernon Davis, Junior Gallette, Duke Ihenache, K Golston, John Sullivan, Greg Toler, Terrence Garvin and can't forget our long snapper Nick Sundberg.
Who you bringing back?
I'm going with
Cousins 23.0 per year 5 year deal
Chris Baker 8.5-9.5 3 year deal
Garçon 7.0-8.0 3 year deal
Nick Sundberg 1 3 year deal
Vernon Davis 2.5 1 year deal
Junior Gallette 1.5 prove it 1 year
Duke Nachos 1.5 1 year
I'd probably look into bringing Center J Sullivan into camp for depth.
Chris Baker does not get resigned for that kind of money. He is worth 5 to 6 max. Gallette will probably still take 4 to .

Yeah if Baker wants 10/mil a year I'd let him walk. He's a good player and deserves a solid contract, but he's not 10/mil a year good.

Baker / Cousins / Garçon 100%
If Doctson doesn't get healthy... losing Djax or Garçon is huge. Without them we have a Phillip Rivers situation. All that pocket presence and nobody to really target. You need playmakers. Djax makes plays. Not lobbying to keep him but you will notice he's gone if we don't replace him with another playmaker.

yeah I think my initial 8.5-9.5 million is probably off...a little high. But I certainly think 7-7.5 per year on a 3 year contract is good value. Locker room - team leader type who has worked hard and every year has gotten better. I think he certainly has at least 2 more years of solid play left. If we handed him a 3 year 22-23 million contract, that would solidify a DT/DE position along a D-Line which was quite frankly bottom 5 in the league. Baker was really the only playmaker on the line. Ricky Jean, Ziggy are decent rotation DE-types, but are not starters.
To me, its gonna be hard to let the only real starter leave. We are then talking 3 new starters on the Dline alone. And don't give me Ionnadis or Lanier...they clearly arent starters yet.

I'm not over paying for Baker either. But a solid 3yr 22/23 mil type of contract with a decent signing bonus of say 2mil would be max.
Of the guys we have Hood and RJ are the best of the bunch.
Questions remain with no DC in house, and which d will we run 4-3 or 3-4 I think we were in a nickel look 65-70% of the time. We did find some success with our NASCAR type package with Murphy and RK on the outside and Baker and Smith on the inside, but that isn't a big enough group for 3 downs and stopping the run.

If we run a 3-4 again Baker is a perfect DE for the scheme. Any team running a 3-4 will pay him. He played really well this season, his presence alone, and he could play 4-3 DT which will increase his value. He's our guy.. why let him walk?

Yea Baker wont fit in a 4-3 scheme very well. Same reason he was cut in Seattle.
