Nsekhe too
I'm sure they would like to keep him, but reality is he's a backup tackle on the wrong side of 30.

Chico23231 01-02-2017, 05:35 PM 2017 NFL Free Agents Tracker | Spotrac (http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/free-agents/rfa/washington-redskins/) Here are the restricted..list skinsfan69 01-02-2017, 05:53 PM I think you are underestimating the cost to keep these guys. I would rather draft D-lineman than pay Baker close to $10 million. And he probably wants 5 years. Garcon is a tough player, and tough call. Davis and Duke, no thanks. Draft a TE. There is no way you pay Baker 8-10 million per year. He just isn't that type of player. To me he's around a 4-5 million dollar player and not a dime more. I'm also in agreement with drafting a TE, although I'd try and bring Davis back for depth. But we need another young stud traditional TE that can freakin' block and knock some people off the ball. Reed is just too soft in the run game. Garcon at the right price is a person that I'd bring back. But not at 7 or 8 million per season. NC_Skins 01-02-2017, 06:28 PM This market value thing is pretty cool. It's about right for what they have on Cousins. While Chris baker is better debate at 8-9 million per, I think if we let garçon get to free agency it could be a competitive market. skinsfaninok 01-02-2017, 06:51 PM Baker is 29 he's worth keeping for another 4 years. Kirk isn't even a Q and garcon is a must keep Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using Tapatalk NC_Skins 01-03-2017, 09:43 AM If Cousins starts demanding this kind of money, I'd let him walk. @EBJunkies Wow. @corryjoel suggests on open market Kirk could potentially get $26.5+ mil per yr... $90 million guaranteed. Id want to leave too. https://twitter.com/EBJunkies/status/816270956159270913 skinsfan69 01-03-2017, 10:05 AM If Cousins starts demanding this kind of money, I'd let him walk. @EBJunkies Wow. @corryjoel suggests on open market Kirk could potentially get $26.5+ mil per yr... $90 million guaranteed. RobH4413 01-03-2017, 10:38 AM Regardless of these interviews, I think Cousins wants a long term deal with the Redskins. I'm going to wait until the climate calms to throw a specific number out there but we have the cap space. It's in Cousin's (and more specifically his agent's) best interest to generate some buzz about him leaving. Having a public campaign makes the Redskins look bad if they don't give him a legitimate deal. It's extra leverage on the negotiating table, and the next few weeks/months expect it to heat up. |
