MTK 01-02-2017, 01:50 PM Broncos want to interview Kyle Shanahan | ProFootballTalk (http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2017/01/02/broncos-want-to-interview-kyle-shanahan/) What if we can get Wade now?? I think Kyle has an excellent shot at getting a HC job this year. Much more so than McVay, I think he needs a few more years. skinsfaninok 01-02-2017, 01:55 PM I think Kyle has an excellent shot at getting a HC job this year. Much more so than McVay, I think he needs a few more years. If mcvay leaves he leaves, he's a decent OC but his play calling is sub par at best. Meks 01-02-2017, 01:59 PM McCay a head coach? Lol. I'll stop there. MTK 01-02-2017, 02:02 PM If mcvay leaves he leaves, he's a decent OC but his play calling is sub par at best. I remember plenty of folks saying the same about Kyle when he was here. Truth is both guys are very good coordinators. Our offense was 3rd in total yards, 2nd in passing yards, 12th in points, we did a lot of good things and McVay deserves a lot of credit in that. PorkSkins 01-02-2017, 02:27 PM Brunell had a good season in 2005, he was bothered in the playoffs by a leg injury and he couldn't plant his foot to throw. But as you say he was aging and starting to become brittle. I still feel today that Brunell was a scapegoat in 2006 for the entire redskins offense being cursed by Al Saunders and his famous 1000 page playbook. IMO, Brunell was a main part of why we crapped the bed in 2006. He sucked like the dickens. Our defense had fallen off that season, as well, but we still played close in most games. Our offense sucked so bad due to Brunell. I wanted to take a chance on Collins in the 2006 season because he knew the system. I didn't think he'd set the world on fire (although, he ended up having a heckuva ride during our 2007 playoff rally following the death of Sean Taylor), but I felt he couldn't be any worse than Brunell. PorkSkins 01-02-2017, 02:29 PM Was that the game Sean Taylor got ejected from for spitting and where he also has a fumble return for TD? That was the game. Bangee7 01-02-2017, 02:32 PM Curious to know where specifically anyone feels that this year's team was better than last year's version. Here are my feelings- QB- same, beat up the slackers & choke in tough games RB- same (amateurs) TE/WR- same (solid both years) OL - same (great pass pro, can't run block) DL-worse (old) LB- worse (just as slow) CB-same to worse S- same old shit K- worse P-same The other thing that bugs me is paying Josh Norman $75M for 2 personal fouls to help the other team score. Jay G should've have pulled his ass out to send a message. The guy keeps putting his own agenda ahead of the team's. I feel like the Eagles are on their way up, the Giants have proven they are better than us & Dallas is the class of the league. I just don't see a lot of hope for next year. That falls on Scott IMO. I wasn't wild about the draft (especially when it was loaded with DT & we end up with Ioannidis- wow, thanks Scott) He's got some work ahead of him before we can be contenders. Joe Barry should be fired, but the next man in won't be able to work magic without more talent. PorkSkins 01-02-2017, 02:44 PM I feel like the Eagles are on their way up, the Giants have proven they are better than us & Dallas is the class of the league. I just don't see a lot of hope for next year. I'd be careful about placing "labels" on any team outside of New England, Green Bay, Pittsburgh, Seattle, and Baltimore (although, they've missed the postseason the past two seasons). Those are the ONLY teams who have shown a level of consistency in this league in the past 5-10 seasons. Everyone else has been up-and-down or just flat-out sucked. Until, I see a level of consistency from anyone in the NFC East, then you just don't know. The 2016 draft does leave a lot to be desired, but if three players turn out alright (Cravens seems to be on his way), then the draft was a success. It's still too early to "call out" this draft, per se'. Sure, SMAC has his work out cut out for us to be a contender, but I want him to build this thing where we're routinely competing like the teams I mentioned above. Outside of the Pats, Steelers, and Packers, who all have HOF'er type QB's who can carry their respective teams.... The Ravens and Seahawks have solid and steady QB play, but have solid line play (Seattle O-line struggled this season) on both sides of the ball, and defenses who can win or help win games. I agree, in reference to Barry being fired. Bring in a more competent coordinator, and start building the defense. skinsfaninok 01-02-2017, 04:00 PM So kirk beating GB, Baltimore and NYG were easy opponents...
