This is the ideal scenario for me at this point. Something tells me it's not going to happen though. I'm starting to get SolidSnake vibes here, and that's probably the scariest part.

I am starting to get on the SolidSnake train as well. =(

Pettine is as good a DC as anyone out there. I also understand Wade Phillips point, our defensive talent sucks. Did anyone really think he was going to come? Less job security and less talent. It may have been an opportunity to get an opinion on the players here also.

I'll be happy with either Pettine or Bradley. I'm leaning towards Pettine a bit after reading that article Schneed (?) posted. Bradley's defense actually seems REALLY simple and it looks like you need a ton of talent to run it. Pettine's looked like it was all about technique and adjustments.

agree...Wade just never seemed in the cards here and that's fine. Pettine or Bradley would be good hires. From an offense side of things Im not concerned and Im glad we didn't bring in McCoy here.

I'm seeing reports where Anthony Lynn is eying Gus Bradley as DC for the Chargers. We heard the exact same thing about McVay for Phillips yesterday and that deal got done PDQ. I've already said it in the other thread, but I think the Redskins need to start looking with a sense of urgency now. These guys are coming off the boards fast.

Is anyone really that surprised we haven't landed one of the top available D coordinators yet? I mean it's not an awesome situation they would be coming in to.

The offense was about the only bright spot last year, and now with McVay leaving (and maybe other assistants with him), possibly losing the two best receivers, and the fact that the front office can't figure out who Kirk Cousins is...it likely won't be the same.

The lack of talent on the defense can't be appealing, unless you just love a challenge.

Top it all off with a head coach on the back end of his contract, and an owner that hasn't extended a head coach in 18 years...why would you want this job?

Everybody thinks we just interview and sign whoever the top guy is, but it's a two way street. These guys are coming in and interviewing the organization too, to see if it's a good fit for them. (Wade could see from Denver that it wasn't). So, don't be surprised if we end up with Manusky by default...

I'm fine with Pettine, like I said in earlier posts, he was my second choice after Wade anyway, BUT we need to go ahead and do this, soon there will be nobody left except for Manusky, at which point we will be fucked!

I think Wade just liked LA better, and honestly it's probably a better fit. I really wanted him here, so it's mostly just me accepting that he's not ever going to come here. Sad! (lol)

Maybe there is someone on one of the remaining playoff teams that they are really high on as well. I mean, KC, Seattle, and Houston certainly have talented position coaches that might be worth looking at.
