Breaking: Trent Williams Suspended 4 GamesMTK 11-01-2016, 07:17 PM Ugh let the overreacting begin. Hey I know, let's send a message and just cut him. MTK 11-01-2016, 07:22 PM @MarkBullockNFL This news means #Redskins will be without Trent Williams against the #Vikings, #Packers, #Cowboys and #Cardinals. No sweat guys we've got this covered, Ty Nsehke for the win. [emoji849] FlyerSkin 11-01-2016, 07:35 PM Wow, just wow!!!!! Why would anyone jeopardize their livelihood for pot!!! SolidSnake84 11-01-2016, 07:48 PM Ugh let the overreacting begin. Hey I know, let's send a message and just cut him. And what would be bad about a message like that going out to a guy who is now a repeat offender for the league's substance abuse policy? I realize he's a great player but honestly sometimes its more important about doing the right thing and sending the right message, mainly something like "The Washington Redskins do not condone using illegal drugs of any kind, and while we appreciate Trent's contributions to the team, this type of behavior cannot be tolerated or accepted. We wish Trent well in future endeavors and hope that he gets the help that he needs". Or do we do the old Snyder / Vinny thing and say, "well, he's our best player, so we have to let him do whatever he wants and make sure he has a roster spot here while paying him handsomely". I realize i am prone to over-reaction like suggesting we cut Hopkins, but IMO this is ridiculous. We have a moral responsibility as a team, and I thought part of Scott M's philosophy was to have "character guys". A repeat offender on the substance policy is not a "character guy". He's hurt the team with his retarded ass actions. We HAVE to just stop accepting shit like this and mentally saying "oh, we're the redskins, this is just the way it is". Bangee7 11-01-2016, 07:49 PM pathetic. extremely disappointed in him. I expected more from the highest paid o-lineman in the NFL Meks 11-01-2016, 08:03 PM Whatever the circumstamce is... he's not expendable lol. Theres no need to fly off the handle and cut one of the best LTs in the league. Maybe he'll get the message of losing over a MIL ... let him get that message. And personally no. TY doesnt make me feel "fine" about it not even close. Schneed10 11-01-2016, 08:07 PM I am fucking livid. I don't understand irresponsible behavior in any form, let alone from someone who is paid so much. FlyerSkin 11-01-2016, 08:11 PM Mike jones saying he didn't even piss dirty, just missed the test. That even more ridiculous in my book. So he just blew the test off? WTF!!!! That is just as if not dumber than testing dirty!!! CRedskinsRule 11-01-2016, 08:14 PM SS84. SM is a repeat drunk and he got another shot because he is extremely good. That's life's reality and morality lesson. TW has been good to go for 5+ years. I have no idea what happened. Clearly it wasn't a good enough reason for an appeal to win, but lets not act like this guy was Fred Davis. He has laid his body on the line more times than you or I have for the Burgundy and gold and I believe earned a pass( no puffs though). It will come up at contract time and maybe he and the team move on then. But for now use the 4week + bye layoff to heal and come back ready to win. Sent from my S6 Edge Schneed10 11-01-2016, 08:17 PM As for the on field impact, our depth is temporarily shot, for the next four games we are one injury away from starting Vinston Painter or shifting Scherff out of position. Nsekhe is a fine pass protector but he will give up more pressure than an all pro Williams, naturally. So McVay's reaction as a play caller will be matchup-based. Against Dallas he can probably call the offense as usual. Against Arizona and Minnesota we are probably going to limit ourselves to shorter drops, it will limit the impact DeSean Jackson can have for us. We miss a ton in the run game. Trent is athletic enough to get out and lead block 15 yards downfield. Nsekhe just can't. We'll surely run right more often behind Scherff, which is a good way to live, but it's predictable. It's a massive loss, don't kid yourself. Especially because of the small possibility that this gets Cousins injured on a blindside shot. Even if it doesn't, we will need the defense and special teams to step up. We need to generate turnovers, and we need to flip the field. |
