Nervous about what a stoned bar tender? How many stoned bar tenders do you think have served you before? How many stoned waitresses? Gimme a break.

No way would any employer in any field let their employee work drunk, I don't get why stoned would be different.

In reality I didn't care that they were stoned, what bothered me was that they constantly F'd up my orders all week. It got old fast. I'm sure I have been served by stoned wait staff in the past but at least they didn't screw up my order.

Not really in the sense of serving a patron, but say injuring themselves or general negligence which could lead to anything like cost waste too literally burning the place down. So as an owner if you said "hey get stoned" or looked the other way, you might not be insured and could be held liable.

I am not sure what you do Irish, but try doing it stoned and try doing it drunk. I am not talking about someone getting high for the first time, as anything new can throw you off your game.
I mean listen I am not advocating they walk around with a bong getting completely ripped. Lol. If it were my place and my staff said hey we were either going to pass a joint around or share that bottle i know what i am voting for. How many stoned people do you see getting bounced from bars or escorted out of sporting events? To me the difference is quite clear.
Yeah getting your order messed up stinks but like you said servers have probably gotten it right before. Again whether it is legal or not aint the issue there. You knew they were all high. You had conversations with them about it. You were looking for the negative results I think.
Anyway just like anything else practice makes perfect. I bet if you go back the waitresses are more adept at serving while stoned. [emoji106]

I would imagine that if it were legal this would not be the case though. If it isnt legal than it wouldn't be an issue. Would just be the "secret order of stoned employees " like it always has been. Again though Chico Im not advocating a six foot bong constantly burning in the employee lounge. Lol.
No need to be tripping after 10 dabs, but to just be high when working ? Be a pro at it. No need to lose focus because you caught a buzz. Maybe me n you can go out there and show those employees that Irish ran into how its done. Lol
Possibly even charge for it? The owners could contract us out to school their employees. Get them up to speed. Literally.

There is so much misinformation on the impact of THC, the drug present in marijuana. These are the impacts healthcare professionals are acutely aware of:

- causes slowed thinking and memory recall

- increases your heart rate, which in people with arrhythmia or pulmonary hypertension can cause cardiac complications

- increases your appetite, which can lead to weight gain if the munchies go unchecked, and of course weight gain leads to all kinds of other health problems

- slows your hand eye coordination

- The smoke IS damaging to the lungs. It contains some of the same chemicals as tobacco smoke, including ammonia, hydrogen cyanide, and formaldehyde. No study has established a definitive causation between heavy marijuana smoking and lung cancer, like is the case with tobacco. But studies HAVE proved that heavy marijuana smoke leads to precancerous changes in the lungs, coughing, wheezing, and increased incidence of COPD (chronic bronchitis and emphysema).

- The drug INCREASES the incidence of anxiety and depression. While it can help dissipate the anxious FEELING that anxious people feel, it increases the risk that the brain will chemically change and result in clinical diagnosis of anxiety/depression.

- Brain imaging of people who smoke marijuana heavily has shown changes in blood flow to the brain and a shrinking hypothalamus, which is the part of the brain responsible for memory recall and thinking. This basically just explains why the memory recall is shittier in pot smokers. Nobody has established any other negative impacts of a shrinking hypothalamus, but they haven't studied it for very long, either.

- And honest scientists recognize that there hasn't been a lot of study on the effects of marijuana. These are the effects they know about currently. There may be more.

They also acknowledge the anti-inflammatory properties, which is where the medical marijuana side comes in. But if you think that means they're prescribing that you smoke it, you're an idiot. It means they will find the safest way to deliver it into your bloodstream, and smoking is not the safest way. The delivery method most often prescribed is suppository.

By the way, COPD is a horrible way to die. Horrible.

Interesting you mention injury because while I was in CO I also talked to the hotel night manager and he said they have had a lot of cases of people getting stoned in the hotel and falling down the steps, into the pool, or the week before I got there, into and through the large glass window in front of the hotel. This is creating insurance and legal liability issues for the hotel.
