That's how it seems at times, unless a guy is a "difference maker", and good luck defining that, then he's average or a scrub, or the worst ever.

Any OLB going against a team's LT is always going to face the better competition instead of the RT. I think which side they play on should also factor into those stats as well.
I agree but, me personally, I view Kerrigan as a LE. He is always asked to put a hat on the RT and doesnt get opportunities to come free or really blitz a gap. Basically he has to beat at least one guy before he can pressure the QB.

skinsfan69 09-30-2016, 04:30 PM For the most part Kerrigan has been singled up all year long. He's just not getting to the QB. It's also not all about pass rush. Kerrigan has also been a liability against the run this year. Just calling it like I see it. Calling him an average player isn't a stretch. I love the guy and all, great work ethic, great teammate, but I just don't see him as a guy that offenses are scared of. Our best player on defense is probably Josh Norman.
Anyhow, really want to see Kerrigan and the defense have a big game Sunday. No reason why they shouldn't....oh wait, who's calling the defense??

He gets rooked on play action as much as anyone. Especially the first PA of each half (Dallas game).
It almost takes him getting burned one good time a half to keep his responsibility.
Totally agree otherwise.
He is good, not great.
EDIT: He gets rooked on play action as much as anybody except David Bruton. Bruton gets rooked way more on play action than anybody who has started 3 NFL games in a row.

With all the defensive problems we have, people here are nit-picking Kerrigan. That just doesn't make any sense to me. He may not be Superman but he is a very good football player.

Nobody is saying anything like that. Kerrigan disappears alot in big spots and games. Jeez.
