So in addition to adding Ioannidis, they also made some PS changes. Trail and Nix gone. Fanaika, Herrera, Richardson added. Scrub swapping.
Are you saying these moves won't propel us to the Super Bowl??

I can't bring myself to fret over the defense.
They lack personnel and the coordinator is average (at best).
The strength of the defense is in secondary, specifically the CBs.
They don't have the horses to be stout against the run, they don't have the pass rush to effect the passer in normal situations.
Unless the offense can spot them the lead they're gonna struggle on defense.
And for me the onus is on the offense to spot them that lead because the offense is where the resources went and it is the area of expertise of this coaching staff.
And yeah they need to quit messing about pick a position and start Su'a.

I know last year we blitzed less than any team in the league? Is that still true? I've been impressed, generally, with our man coverage. I'd like to see us force faster throws and see what happens. Even if we dont get home, i'd rather lose.
Im also thinking I'd like to see us transition back to a 4-3. We just can't find the NT we need and OLBs to make it work. It'll be easier to find draft prospects, etc. I don't blame the 3-4, but I believe our personnel is better suited for the 4-3 and we'll have an easier time getting and retaining talent.

IF we could swap our entire D for another teams D ..take your pick of ANY team my guess would be our new D would regress and our old D would play better..my point is its a lousy coaching /scheme issue with no adjustments ever. Why when we have the safety help Breeland on the #1 wr the safety is never close enough to really help? Why not blitz a Player now and then ?? are we worried about giving up the big play..really! The scheme is not working and I don't think its all the players fault. Think about this..IF our D is that bad because of lack of talent then what does that say about the organization ability to evaluate talent in the first place??? The powers that be thought we had enough talent on the D to burn our #1 on a position of strength. that boggles my mind. that fact alone should shed light on the real issue of the skins.

We need to increase our pass rush. Since we don't have the horses to rush four and get home regularly, we need to blitz more, I don't understand why Gruden/Barry can't comprehend this? How many 3rd and long conversions do those jackwagons need to see before they try something different?

1. I have heard people say that Cravens isnt a run down ILB but when I saw him play for Compton he literally was making plays in the backfield.
2. DeShaun Phillips is a corner who wears #35. Enough said, where is Kendall Fuller?

Same here...Cravens has great instincts and that knack to always be around the ball. Cravens seems comfortable lining up in the box, close to the los....id like to see him with more playing time.
