Media Bias

I know we mostly all agree that there is bias in CNN/Fox News, but leading up to the election the spin on both sides is not just oozing it's flooding both their front pages.
Samples right now:
assorted CNN front page headlines: 45 bizarre lines from Trumps last speech, Why Trump doesn't want to punish Saudis, Beta O'rourke supports impeaching Trump
not one positive spin headline towards republican or conservatives

assorted Fox front page headlines: Gray Lady Gripes - Unpopular Clinton told to be quiet by NYT board member, Texas Dems accused of asking non-citizens to vote
not one positive spin headline toward democrat or liberals.

Maybe this is just me, but it's frustrating that short of Reuters there just is no balanced news anymore. I mean I watch both sides, and I try to be objective, but I know I'm not. I just wish there were some journalists and media sources that you knew you could trust to be objective and present both sides fairly pro and con.
This is the type of reporting I ignore ,from everyone .It's the mid terms and between this type of political reporting and the Ads my TV remote is getting a workout.

Good story pertaining to people who are mostly blogger types being touted as real Media and how the MSM gets the blame. Has to do with a phony photo of the trump/cruz rally . The very last sentence is for Chico.;)

A photo showing a crowd of nearly one million people engulfing major roadways was not taken during President Donald Trump's rally in Houston this week, as several people falsely claimed on social media.

The president stopped in Houston Monday to stump for Republican Sen. Ted Cruz, as part of his multi-stop tour to mobilize GOP voters ahead of the midterm elections. Trump held the event at the 19,000-seat Toyota Center , where crowds gathered outside hours prior to his speech.

But the image circulating on social media was snapped in June 2016 during a million-person parade that took place in downtown Cleveland to celebrate the Cavaliers' NBA championship. Using a drone, Bruce Bishop and Matt Mishak took the photo while covering the event for the Chronicle-Telegram, a newspaper in Elyria, Ohio.

City and team leaders estimated more than one million people attended the day's celebration of the NBA title, which marked an end to Cleveland's 52-year championship drought.

Bishop confirmed to The Associated Press that he took the photo of the crowds, on the corner of Ninth Street and Lakeside Avenue in the city's downtown. The image was used for the newspaper's website and Bishop sent a tweet of the picture on June 22, 2016.

This is not the first time the photo has been falsely identified as being from a Trump rally. The Chronicle-Telegram reiterated the photo's origin on its Facebook page in August 2017, after a conservative website shared the image as purporting to show a crowd of supporters awaiting Trump's arrival in Phoenix.

This is part of The Associated Press' ongoing effort to fact-check misinformation that is shared widely online, including work with Facebook to identify and reduce the circulation of false stories on the platform.

News travels fast, but fake news travels even faster, especially when there’s a political agenda attached to it.

One glaring example took place over the weekend, when someone on Twitter TWTR, -4.28% posted a photograph of an injured police officer, with a caption that he’d been “brutalized” by the migrant caravan on its way to the United States.

Soon, it would spread across the internet, as these things do. Same picture. Mostly the same caption. But, as you can see by these examples, different accounts.


Nevertheless, plenty believed it. That long list apparently includes Ginni Thomas, wife of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, who posted it on her page:

This is how the media participated in smearing a good man's name:

NBC News spoke to the woman again on October 4 and asked why her written statement contradicted her earlier claims, at which point she reiterated that she had never witnessed Kavanaugh engage in the conduct described. When asked why she would sign a statement to the contrary, the woman accused Avenatti of “twisting” her words and said she only skimmed the statement he prepared for her before signing it.

NBC did not reveal any of this until nearly a month after first learning that Avenatti apparently misrepresented the woman’s claims.


Are we really surprised?

Every Way Jacob Wohl Messed Up His Attempt to Take Down Robert Mueller

In the past several hours, a scheme to take down Special Counsel Robert Mueller by accusing him of sexual misconduct has imploded in a truly spectacular fashion. The plot appears to have been largely orchestrated by Jacob Wohl, a 20-year-old right-wing troll, Trump superfan, disgraced hedge-fund wunderkind, and apparent plagiarist who tweeted Monday night that “a scandalous story about Mueller is breaking tomorrow. Should be interesting. Stay tuned!”

The scandal so far seems to be how laughably bad Wohl was at covering up his tracks. Shortly after he posted his ominous tweet, several journalists managed to connect Wohl to a false sexual-misconduct tip they had received about Mueller earlier this month, and to a company called Surefire Intelligence that claimed to be looking into these allegations. The shoddily constructed narrative quickly collapsed, due in part to Wohl’s failure to account for people’s ability to reverse image search, and now, the FBI has announced that they are looking into whether women were offered money to make false allegations against Mueller.

This is my other prediction regarding the election. In pure spirit of the media bias thread, the liberal media will have called the northeast that is solid blue the "start of a big blue wave" by 810pm. They will point to exit polls showing how many people came out against DTrump.

And by the end of the night with a minimal gain in the house (24 -28 enough to win the house) and losses in the senate, they will still be proclaiming the night a repudiation of Trumps agenda, ignoring historical precedent that the president's party basically always loses seats in their first midterm.

As I said before I think there will be minimal gain ,still not take the house,the terror tour is working on older and middle of the country Americans.


I would like to add that today election day after voting I will not watch one bit of news .I will not ,I can not watch any of these ads anymore........from either side!

CNN must be getting some bad exit polls to run an article saying how Pelosi can still be speaker with less than 218 votes (https://www.cnn.com/2018/11/06/politics/speaker-election-votes/index.html).

SAME AUTHOR, remixing the same sampling of exit polls. But I love this line (With voting still ongoing throughout the country) as the first sentence under that headline:

More than 40% of voters in the 2018 election approve of the job Trump is doing as President,

For that statement to be true, seeing as likely 1/3 or more of voters haven't voted yet, the exit polling would need to be 70% approval.


Just CNN idiocracy at it's best.
