I had to look way too long to get the above clip that I already knew existed.
Put "biden on gay marriage 2008" into a Google search. All you get is a bunch of results about the Same-Sex Marriage act signed today. Nothing about what he said in 2008.
Times change and so do people's minds.
An open mind is a good thing. I'm sure you feel differently today about some things than you did 15-20 years ago.

NPR was playing clips of Biden in 2008 yesterday on the news

Joe Biden is a phony, power hungry, fucking liar. He will do or say whatever it fucking takes to get/keep power. He is a proven racist and he doesn't actually believe in gay marriage. But he will say he does now because that's what keeps him in power. Biden is a fucking grifting, non-principled, shithead. Joe Biden is the definition of everything that is wrong with American politics. He's a dickhead.]
I realize you're not use to a Politician doing what is right for the Country even if he might disagree with the issue. Again you never said a word about trump when he did all the things you accuse Biden of, wonder why?

Sorry, that's way too convenient imo. He's a career politician. He will do or say whatever it takes to benefit himself, whether he actually believes it or not.

Isn't that part of the game of governing for the people, giving them what they want even if it doesn't line up exactly with what you believe?
Regardless of how or why protecting gay marriage is a good thing.
61% of Americans approve. (https://www.pewresearch.org/fact-tank/2022/11/15/about-six-in-ten-americans-say-legalization-of-same-sex-marriage-is-good-for-society/)

Reading the article makes me depressed. Only 61% of Americans see equal rights as a good thing. Actually less than that when broken down even further. I would have hoped it would been higher.

Sure, but that's different than being a phony liar. His 'beliefs' just blow in the wind to be in whatever position benefits himself. He would still be against gay marriage if 61% of Americans were against it.

yeah but consider where opinions were 20 years ago
Views of the impact of same-sex marriage on society are largely unchanged since 2019. However, there has been a dramatic increase in public support for same-sex marriage over the past two decades. As recently as 2004, nearly twice as many Americans opposed than favored allowing gay and lesbian people to marry legally; by 2019, public opinion had reversed, with 61% in favor and 31% opposed.

Why, this Country couldn't even get the ERA passed. trump got elected with a us against them attitude and plenty on this board went along with it and still do.
