(Perhaps this is in the article, which I confess I haven't read.) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk mooby 05-17-2016, 10:02 AM I am stunned by this report. Another valuable asset gone, looks like we're down to 52 All-Pros now. Chico23231 05-17-2016, 10:14 AM Just never worked out...not a big loss, hopefully he finds a home somewhere NC_Skins 05-17-2016, 10:23 AM Looking at the salary cap numbers, does anybody else think they'll be cutting Garcon sometime in training camp as well? Would shave off 8mil on the salary cap. KI Skins Fan 05-17-2016, 10:28 AM Looking at the salary cap numbers, does anybody else think they'll be cutting Garcon sometime in training camp as well? Would shave off 8mil on the salary cap. There is no reason to cut Garcon. Am I the only one here who thinks that Garcon is a quality NFL receiver who was worth his FA contract? If that's not a good enough reason, then why would you want to dismantle the WR depth we've built? NC_Skins 05-17-2016, 10:29 AM There is no reason to cut Garcon. He's not worth the money he's being paid and shaving 8mil off the cap when that money can go to better use is always better. You don't overpay people just for the sake of overpaying. You can roll over any unused salary cap. KI Skins Fan 05-17-2016, 10:31 AM Wouldn't they have saved another $1m if they waited to June 1? (Perhaps this is in the article, which I confess I haven't read.) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk The man deserves a chance to land a job with another team. Cutting him now helps him to do that. Also, I think they can cut a player now and designate it as a June 1st cut. Anyway, I think we need him this year so I'd bite the bullet on his contract. He's a FA next season, so the burden is short term. mooby 05-17-2016, 10:50 AM He's not worth the money he's being paid and shaving 8mil off the cap when that money can go to better use is always better. Letting him go creates a unnecessary hole for no reason other than to save cap room. And who are you going to pick up with that cap room this late in FA/trade? It's not like there's a bunch of great players on the market right now. I am sure if there is a player McC or Gruden wants right now they have the financial flexibility to make it happen. |
