A10sROCK 06-12-2016, 03:53 AM I was at the OTA's today. It was pretty awesome. Kirk Cousins looks like a surgeon out there. He was just pin point accurate. Desean Jackson was unguardable. Everytime he was on the field he ran right past Josh Norman, for a deep ball. The one time Norman contested the ball, Desean wrestle it away from him diving in the end zone. Desean looked like he was hurt, but returned to action later. Richard Marshall was not out there. Looks like one of those guys that is never healthy. Robert Kelly on the other hand looked real good. Trent Williams was not there, Nseke filled in and appeared to really good. Arie kouandjio was starting at guard along with the other standard starters. Arie also looked good. The first team defense was getting tore up, Joe Barry was yelling and cursing like you would not believe. Couple of surprising things was that the Phillips kid was the starting nickel corner. I read this the other day, but looks like he has one the job for now. Kendal Fuller looked good, and intercepted Colt McCoy. Both Colt and especially Nate Sudfeld looked light years behind Kirk. Sudfeld looked absolutely terrible, Gruden yelled at him constantly. Saying at one time" Sudfeld can you get one yard. Just one yard." He did not complete a pass, in 11 on 11 drills.
Thanx for the info. Surprising because the DEFENSE usually has the up hand early in the OTA's. I'm worried that the defense will just not improve this much this season. Obviously adding Norman was a master bit of luck and seizing a great opportunity. But one player does not a defense make. I think the defense will improve into an average unit this year, but still think we are one season away from an elite defense unit.
Hail!

What if our offense is just that good? We're loaded on O and i think we'll put up a whole lotta points this season as long as Kirk stays healthy.

Great to hear all the positives so far in the camps...I like that

"The culture is what I want to build," he said. "If we win a championship, that would be awesome. But I want guys to understand the importance of being a team. It's not about the individuals. It's the sum of the parts. … We're not close to where we need to be yet, but it's going in the right direction. Definitely."
Make no mistake, the Redskins are better. But they are still a Josh Norman story. Rarely is a team gifted the unexpected opportunity to sign an All-Pro cornerback, especially one who was coming off a career season and a Super Bowl appearance. That said, Norman is only one point of light for a Redskins franchise that is suddenly looking remarkably intriguing heading into the offseason break. And McCloughan is at the center of that."
more redskins praise...exciting
JoeRedskin 06-15-2016, 12:34 PM This year will be a really good bell-weather. Can we compete with and beat good teams on a regular basis? In the past, it really required the good team to be having an off day or early in the season while the eventual "good" team was still getting its act together.
We have a rough schedule from week 1. The Steelers, Ravens and two division games (including our home game against Dallas) in the first five weeks - with a visit from RGIII thrown in for good measure.
Really like where we are going and how Scot McC has us moving. Here's hoping that we are watching a very solid foundation being built.

agree...if we come out and beat Pittsburgh week 1 the Kool Aid flood in DC and surroundings is gonna be amazing, 1980s-like.

Daushon Phillips has been running as the starting a lot receiver all spring. When they asked Perry Fewell about him he said the job is his to lose. That is one of the biggest shockers for me all off season.
