Su'a Cravens

You're kinda making my point when you refer to 2014. And I get that he switched for the benefit of the team. But imho once the season was over however; I thought he should have declared himself a Safety. And dedicated himself to turning his body back into a S and therefore would have performed better at near 215 then at 226. I would like to see him get back to 215 and imo that speed and agility will return.

I agree. Speed is very important to his game. It will be even more important to him in the pros. Cravens as a 215 pound SS is a mad wrecking ball all over the field. He's a wild card for us and i just hope the Skins use him the right way. Turn him loose!

The Redskins are now listing him as a safety.

They wore 9 and 21 in college. Two pretty darn good Redskins wore those numbers.

He's a prospect that was discussed early in some of the draft threads.
At the beginning of the draft process, aftering watching Su'a play actual football I would have pegged him as late 1st/ early 2nd round prospect.

Personally I think he made a mistake not transforming/making the decision to be a S and not a LB and to transform his body from a LB to S during the offseason. I think the extra weight he put on to play LB slows him down. Consequently he didn't run/test well at the combine.
But, when you watch this kid on tape...he balls.

I hope, we use him as true SS and not LB. As a SS I think he can really help the run game. Our S play, especially from SS was very poor in the run game. Goldson 'took' tackles more then he 'made' tackles. I know some will question his speed. I know I do.

But the tape says he can play and I hope he plays Strong Safety.

I'm impressed by a lot of those highlights, but what impresses me the most is his blitzing ability. Holy shit.

The only reason this dude fell is because he doesn't have the "ideal" speed for a safety, or the "ideal" size for linebacker. Disruptive ballers like this get brand new positions made up for them if your D coordinator has balls. Nice pick, sure money this guy is a fan favorite.

Who cares about the combine??My reason for mentioning the combine performance was to explain why myself and some others think his timed speed isn't the issue it appears to be based on the numbers posted at the combine which are a reference point for many fans.

TLDR-Su'a is faster then his posted 40 time because he was carry about ~10lbs over his natural weight
