Roberts will be gone as soon as he's cleared, Grant should be back.
Redskins 1st Round Pick: WR Josh Doctson (TCU)MTK 04-29-2016, 11:33 AM Roberts will be gone as soon as he's cleared, Grant should be back. Chico23231 04-29-2016, 11:35 AM I'm more concern about DJax durability than any so called "drama." His trademark is speed, and as Matty said, he'll likely lose a step pretty soon. Yeah I don't get it either. DJax first year with the Skins had 13 receptions of 40+ yards. 13. Doubled up the next guy. Was injured last year, but I think experience and scheme can make up for a lost step. Usually naturally fast dudes don't just stop being fast. You cant just go out and find another Desean. punch it in 04-29-2016, 11:38 AM Roberts will be gone as soon as he's cleared, Grant should be back. Yeah I guess he is the fifth guy. Ross is gone too than. JoeRedskin 04-29-2016, 11:39 AM Even if he loses a step, DJax still has the speed to be the needed deep threat that Garcon just isn't. Unless DJax just completely drops off in ability (i.e. speed), safeties will not be crowding the line like they will with Garcon. Love Garcon's toughness. He and DJax are a solid 1A/1B WR pairing b/c they bring different things to the table. However, as the old adage says, you can't teach speed. I am betting DJax has a couple more speedy years in him and, unless they find that same speed elsewhere, he's sticking. Scot will find more solid, tough guys like Garcon. They can be gotten through UFA's or drafting. Speed, however, comes at a premium. Doctson looks great and, hopefully, he works out. However, he is not a speed demon (4.5 40) and is unlikely to take the top off a D. Crowder is the definition of a slot receiver - small & quick but without top-end speed. So until we pay or draft a speed guy, DJax is going to be the guy we rely on to attack the back end of a D. JoeRedskin 04-29-2016, 11:42 AM Ross v. Grant will be a battle in camp this year - and it may be that the loser is fighting the rest of the roster to keep six WR's instead of five. DJax, Garcon, Crowder, Doctson, Ross/Grant. On the roster, only Ross provides the speed that DJax provides. skinsfan69 04-29-2016, 11:49 AM Both Ross and Roberts play teams. Grant does not. Grant isn't a good enough wr to JUST be a back up and not play teams. Seems like Grant has been here for a while and can never seems to take that next step. He seems like the one that will be gone. redskinsfan1980 04-29-2016, 11:52 AM Garçon fits the McCloughan mold much more than Jackson. Once Jackson starts to lose a step, which could happen very soon, there goes his game. What about Garcon's lack of production? Chico23231 04-29-2016, 11:52 AM I cant wait to see Doctson line up in red zone packages, get one on one matchups and out jump fools for Corner fades routes skinsfan69 04-29-2016, 11:52 AM Its so funny with D Jax. Ive never seen a guy go from hero to zero and back so frequently. Lol. Im totally guilty of it myself. And I think this is exactly how the coaches feel about him. It's love and hate. He does just enough to justify keeping him and then pisses you the fuck off 5 minutes later. Personally I'll be glad when we can afford to move on from him but right now we need him. lol. |
