Love this, love this, love this.
Worried about the cap space, but honestly the past 10 years have proven we can usually make anything work. We need $$ to go around to Cousins, Reed, and Baker next year, but we'll have something like $29 mil from Garcon/DJax gone & and the salary cap increase..
IF we get some Dline from draft - the only holes on paper seem to be finding real safeties, and getting better MLBs..

Need to know more about the financials(what the actual guaranteed money is), I think he is a positive team guy and locker room guy also. I still think we overpaid a bit, but looking at some of the other CB contracts, its not terrible, IE Janoris Jenkins & Byron Maxell. He is much better player then both, and his pay is only about 12% higher. Obviously SM must feel like he is a big difference maker that doesn't hit the market often.
It sure will be fun seeing Norman go at it with Dez and OBJ the next few years. With him and Breeland we've got some serious attitude at corner now.

50 million? Sorry but I would have passed. Way too much money for someone with one great year. As I said, almost all of the time when teams go out and overpay on a guy in free agency they RARELY get that return back on to the field.
The positive is he fills an immediate need. That's great. But I would not have done this deal. No way.

At this point the deal really looks more like 2 years 36 million guaranteed, its alot per year tho.

It really depends on how that 50m is structured. And I can't remember where a recent contract was just a bad deal for the team (or player really) I think the skins really write fair contracts overall

I don't even think we need to mention Cousins when we are worried about next years cap implications, we are under the cap right now and he is at 20mm it won't be much more next year and probably be less due to a long term deal.
The concern are the others that are dirt cheap on rookie contracts right now.

I was reading that Drew Brees was really pushing for him in NO and was willing to really restructure and extend his contract to make it work. That is very telling to me of his abilities when a top flight QB who has played him twice a year for the past four years is desperate to have him on his team.

There is another report that says the Redskins can get out of contract after 2 years with $9 million of dead cap space..... $38 million guaranteed
