KI Skins Fan 04-23-2016, 01:00 AM And here comes Debbie Downer Seifert:
Redskins overpay for an aging, talented star. Sound familiar? - NFL Nation- ESPN (http://espn.go.com/blog/nflnation/post/_/id/202489/washington-overcommitted-for-josh-norman)
I read that article earlier and it is a big heap of stinking garbage. Keim's comments on the signing show a much better understanding of how it fits within the Redskin's team-building strategy.
SCRedskinsFan 04-23-2016, 01:57 AM He is 29, but he is a young 29. Late bloomer. Coming into his prime. 53 games is not alot. Drafted in 2012.
28. He's 28 until December 15, when the regular season is practically over. These negative age insinuations are driving me crazy. He graduated college at 25, not a lot of wear, was drafted in the same draft as Kirk Cousins. Both just came off their rookie contracts. We are getting a player in his absolute prime.
Knowing what we know about his performance, he has a higher value than anyone that's going to be drafted next week. It's like we were gifted a proven number 1 pick that happens to be an all pro. And we're getting him for his prime years. So exactly what's not to like?
You say the money. I say what's it to you, not coming out of your pocket, and we have adults, smart guys, running the show. I guarantee we keep all the players we really want to keep. We fell into this one, folks. The football gods are continuing to smile on us...

My bad 28. And couldn't agree more. HTTR!

Best part: I live about 20 miles south of Coastal Carolina where he went to school. Great to see a homeboy do well. By all accounts he was a great stand up guy there and won the conference championship, as well as at his high school in Greenwood, SC where his team won the state title.
A winner and a leader wherever he's been. Doesn't get any better than this!
hutch17 04-23-2016, 02:34 AM Mixed emotions on this one. That's a lot of money for a 29 year old with one very good year under his belt. I do like his competitiveness though. He'll blend in with Cully and DHall well. If we somehow could get Ragland in Round 1, our D would have some intimidating dudes!
Cully is definitely gone after this signing, you meant to say how he blend with Breeland and Dunbar.

I am a Coastal alum and could not be happier to have him on the team. Look at this smile ear to ear baby
Giantone 04-23-2016, 02:58 AM Even when Vinny was being a complete shit head the cap never was a problem.
Only the penalty by the league hurt us which was pussy ass Mara bullshit. But when ur a twat like Mara, they end up getting fucked in the end.
Between this move and the Eagles trade and what the Giants have done the NFC East is all ready a better division.Nice pick up but I would still like to know why you let someone of this caliber walk?
Chief X_Phackter 04-23-2016, 03:06 AM Great pick up. Wow. Got the best gm in the league, a great young qb, a nice oline, a full compliment of draft picks coming up, now Norman. Galette hopefully a dangerous edge rusher, and we are defending nfc east champs. We might make some effin noise this year fellas. Buckle up.
Well said my friend. Buckling up!

Please, the Giants went off their rocker this offseason with the moves they have made and $ spent. Obviously they believe the window is closing on Eli. Are they hiding Vinny somewhere in the building?
The Eagles...
Let's recap:
1) Sign their veteran, injury-prone, proven-mediocre QB to a two year 18m+ contract.
2) Sign an unproven backup to $7M this year and $12M guaranteed.
3) Give away the farm to move up and draft a QB that would probably be a 2nd rounder in a lot of years...thereby completely pissing off your $18M starter and (presumably) your $7M backup.
Who's drawing up the plans here?
That Guy 04-23-2016, 05:09 AM i still can't believe they let him walk, honestly.
