Only seven more days.
Pretty sad ending for our investment.
Back in the day I told anyone that would listen that he was going to take us to three superbowls.
My wife likes to "remind" me of that.

I agree. I was all in on RGIII and really, really wanted him to succeed. I kept holding out hope through last year's training camp but then he played in preseason and it was plain he simply had not progressed. I can still remember how dejected I felt when it became clear he was just not going to be the guy.

I wish him the best. Thanks for the magic of 2012. Good luck wherever he lands. With that said, I will be very surprised if he does anything other than end up a mediocre, journey man QB.

RG will be totally out of the NFL in 2 or 3 years

we still have rg3 apologists after all this time? he's proven he still can't read a defense, and reports from cooley and players on the team is he spent this last year on the scout team just going through the motions instead of making a real effort to get better. he's all hype and maybe andy reid can fix him, but anyone that thinks they should build their team around him at this point should be immediately fired.

While Cousins was benched in 2014 he hired his own QB coach during the season. Who does that? Never seen anyone do that during an actual season. Cousins was determined to get better.

Not sure what Griffin was doing all year long, but I know he wasn't going to the lengths that Cousins was. Not saying that this is wrong by Griffin. I just get the feeling with him that he probably thinks nothing was ever his fault.
He was outplayed the last TWO pre seasons by Cousins and that's why he lost the job for good.

Griffin can probably still run pretty fast and throw it far. He might look good at the combine and pro days. But when the rush is actually coming at him, and he has to drop back 5 - 7 steps, he's exposed. The instincts to play QB aren't there. So to me it doesn't matter what his physical skills are, his skill to actually play QB are not there.

5 games?....It would be great if a team would make us a deal for RG3. But you know that isn't happening.Yes, Griffin was benched after 5 games. It is the HC prerogative to bench whomever he likes. But he was indeed benched after 5 games. It turned out good because Cousins proved to be quality QB.

I doubt a team trades for Griffin either. The time to trade him would have been last year prior to the season.

I could see Griffin ending up somewhere on the QB carousel between Goff, Wentz and Kaep and the Browns, Texans, Rams, 49ers

if he's smart, he goes to KC, if he's dumb, he goes to cleveland. SF is somewhere in between. it might work out, it might be a disaster.

I think Cleveland drafts Wentz and starts him day one.

Wherever he goes, I think RG3 will be "All in for Week 1 Pt. 2" and much like Pt. 1 it won't work out for the best. Other than that I pretty much agree with JoeRedskin and That Guy. I feel his best shot at long term success would be being the backup somewhere and basically "redshirting" to learn how to play again.

30gut, you're not about to go down that long and tiresome road again are you?

DYoungJelly, I can hardly believe you asked him that question. Didn't you see the trip wire across the trail?

Next topic, please!

The rubber is going to meet the road in a few days when he is released.

The market will dictate his value in the NFL so there will be no guessing.

And, I'm really sorry, I couldn't help it.

I dont think it matters because sadly he will never be more than a backup again, if he is even able to latch on somewhere. Teams will see that it is indeed a matter of poor play and not him getting run out of town or bamboozled in some way by the Skins. He will have a chance somewhere but my instincts tell me he struggles mightily as he has for quite some time now.
For the sake of answering the question though ...the niners will give him a shot. Than after they give him a shot... Well...see above comments.

It turned out good because Cousins proved to be quality QB.It's really misleading to say Griffin was benched after 5 games in 2014. 5 games into the 2014 season RG3 was sitting on the bench not because Gruden or anyone benched him, but because Griffin injured himself jumping while throwing a pass.

Do you want me to recount the ugly game-by-game recap of 2014 for Rg3? It might explain why Gruden's decision to name Cousins the starter in 2015 was easy after RG3 got injured(again) that preseason.

I doubt a team trades for Griffin either. The time to trade him would have been last year prior to the season.

I could see Griffin ending up somewhere on the QB carousel between Goff, Wentz and Kaep and the Browns, Texans, Rams, 49ersRight now RG3 isn't in that circle of QBs. Think Manziel, Clausen, and other projects.
