SolidSnake84 11-21-2016, 06:55 PM So, Dan buys the franchise. He makes one bad FO and HC hiring decision after another. He tries to be his own GM and makes one historically bad player personnel decision after another. And he does this for twenty years!
Then it seems that he finally realizes the error of his ways when he hires Scot McCloughan, one of the best GM's in the business. And now, you're telling me he is still pushing his GM to make poor decisions on critical player personnel just when the franchise is about to turn the corner on the field? It's damn near unbelievable that he would do that, yet I do believe it. Hubris. Pure hubris.
I don't think he's exactly Rosy about Cousins being our QB and possible franchise quarterback, but at the end of the day I believe that he will let Scott M make the big time decisions. I do wonder now which way he is leaning about Cousins. I'm with the opinion of some of the other posters here, when or IF we let Cousins go, it could really haunt us tremendously because i think too, that this team is about ready to turn the corner and become again one of the NFL's consistently best teams....

I think the timeline would go something like this:
2015 offseason: Jay Gruden comes out and says RG3 is the guy and we are going to fully support him. Kirk is nothing more than an afterthought.
2015 training camp: Gruden/McC are slowly realizing RG3 is still garbage, especially around the time when we are holding simultaneous TC with the Pats (and the post camp reports that the Pats thought Cousins was better.)
2015 preseason: RG3 gets injured with the concussion, which lets Gruden/McC make their move to establish Cousins as the starter. Snyder is furious, prob still bitter that RG3 sucks years after giving up a bounty for him. Snyder dislikes Cousins because he really hasn't done anything during the regular season so far.
2015 games 1-8: Snyder sees Cousins looking weak out of the gate, with each passing game tries to figure out a way to get rid of Cousins and possibly non-Bruce Allen management for dissing his boy RG3.
2015 games 9-16: Begrudgingly admits the greatest comeback in Redskins history was semi-cool, tries not to get too hyped about it. Cousins then goes on to have an excellent second half but Snyder still isn't 100% sold. Cousins doesn't say anything but clearly the McC vote of confidence helped him step his game up.
2016 offseason: Cousins gets tagged, we play the wait-and-see game.
2016 first two games: Cousins looks mediocre out of the gate, Snyder is either furiously overreacting or at least mildly panicking that 2015 season pt.2 was a fluke, starts wondering if Cousins has any trade value left.
2016 - current: Cousins making Snyder look dumb again. Maybe Snyder has learned to just sign the checks and let McC make football decisions. Not putting my money on that though.

16 td's and 4 picks since week 2 and we really have to sit here and think there's a chance he walks? I think having all this good qb play has made people forget how much garbage we had to sift through to find this gem. Just so you guys don't forget:
Almost 15 wasted years of:
RG "broken" 3
John "can't complete forward passes" Beck!
Sexy Rexy Grossman
Donovan "coasting" Mcnabb
Jason "meh" Campbell/Todd "career backup" Collins
Mark "ancient" Brunell
Patrick "shellshocked" Ramsey
Shane "gunslinger" Matthews!
Danny "college brah" Wuerffel!
Tony "can't remember" Banks
Jeff "get off the stage Ralphie" George!
The last time we had a qb this competent, we let him go to TB and win a Superbowl. Stop trying to fuck this good thing up.
Snyder is on board with winning, period. This bologna about him possibly not wanting Cousins is totally ridiculous and completely unfounded. Did you see him in the booth last night? He looked like a kid on Christmas FFS.

I was dancing too

I can only assume with more rhythm than Snyder. Which is to say any at all.

punch it in 11-21-2016, 08:40 PM In the real world sure, I wouldn't yell in my boss's ear and ruffle his hair. Just like I wouldn't pat my coworkers on the ass or jump on them if they did something good.
Sports are not a typical work environment needless to say.
Totally, when you are in the business of talent you can get away with more. When you cannot be replaced easily thru a stack of resumes it is a little different. Lol. Like Stern and his "bosses" before he went on Sirius.

There just aint no when or "if" we let KC go anymore. Dan Snyder is about as he thrilled as he could be right now with this team, that he would root for even if he were a postman, and you know who is at the heart of that excitement? Yes. KC.
You can stop suggesting that we "might" let him go now. After every game that "might" just gets more ridiculous.
Chico23231 11-21-2016, 08:53 PM Cousins isn't going anywhere for along time
SFREDSKIN 11-21-2016, 11:34 PM Watching the Raiders vs Texans and realizing how fortunate we are to have Cousins instead of Carr and Osweiler. Carr is very good, Osweiler is average at best. At least Shanahan did 2 things right, getting Cousins and Reed.
