MTK 03-03-2016, 01:21 PM By signing franchise tender, Kirk Cousins avoids drama - Washington Redskins Blog- ESPN (http://espn.go.com/blog/washington-redskins/post/_/id/23836/by-signing-franchise-tender-kirk-cousins-avoids-drama) punch it in 03-03-2016, 01:30 PM I definitely am not as versed as Schneed or many others on this board about the intricacies of the CBA or salary cap. Hell im not an x's and o's guy either. I know a little bit about a little bit. BUT I knew that KC was our QB many moons ago. Cannot wait to see how God damn good this guy is this season. HTTR! hutch17 03-03-2016, 01:33 PM As for Cousins, many of us have been strong voices in the "Chill the F Out" camp, the strongest of which have been me and Matty. I think if you understand the relationship between Cousins and McVay, and between Cousins and Gruden, and the fit that Cousins has within this offense, then it was plain as day to see that Cousins does not want to be anywhere else. I maintain my prediction: they'll come to a long term agreement before Week 1. Maybe Cousins comes down a little bit in his demands because he knows there's no place he'd rather be than here with Gruden and McVay. Or maybe the Redskins see how Cousins works and how he progresses throughout OTAs, and become more confident in committing big money for the long haul. Either way, both sides want each other, quite badly. That's the only read on the situation you can possibly have. And we should celebrate for it. HTTR[/QUOTE] I would prefer it by July 15th since that is the deadline I think there is little chance that a long term deal does not get done. He signed it really fast because he wants to be here and knows he is wanted. hutch17 03-03-2016, 01:35 PM Whiskey Fox Trot ..... i REALLY wanted Cousins to be able to negotiate with other teams bc I though it would help convince him to come down off his number. Oh well, he's happy, im happy. Now the the only waiting game is to see how high of a ranking Cousins gets w Madden '17. Cover baby MTK 03-03-2016, 04:25 PM Whiskey Fox Trot ..... i REALLY wanted Cousins to be able to negotiate with other teams bc I though it would help convince him to come down off his number. Oh well, he's happy, im happy. Now the the only waiting game is to see how high of a ranking Cousins gets w Madden '17. He's my QB in Madden Ultimate Team, he's a 91. That Guy 03-03-2016, 05:25 PM i wish they still made madden for pc :/ CRedskinsRule 03-03-2016, 06:44 PM the problem is, once a team negotiates a deal, they're on the hook for it or 2 picks. and the agent is doing the talking, not the skins, so he's not going to volunteer info that doesn't help him. either way, off 8 games, it would be a huge mistake to trade two 1sts and pay for price for a guy. not saying it would have been impossible, but... i mean, you saw how fast he signed that thing. Someone offers me 19.9million see how fast I sign - then beers for everyone on the Warpath. :food-smil EARTHQUAKE2689 03-03-2016, 07:23 PM i wish they still made madden for pc :/ I love Madden OmahaRedskins 03-03-2016, 11:18 PM Mike Florio posted an article about how KC should boycott the offseason program to force a long term deal. Does anybody know why he hates the Redskins? That Guy 03-04-2016, 07:26 AM yeah, i don't think you can prove that you're a leader worth investing big money in by staying home and crying about it. not to mention that's going to end up making him look bad when he gets on the field with a 100% cold start. i'm sure kirk will be here and show that he's committed to being the best he can be. you're talking about a guy that hired his own qb coach, and then went to train with the other gruden in the offseason on his own dime. that doesn't sound like the kind of guy that's going to stay home when he's finally been recognized as the leader of the team. florio's just being dumb. |
