WTF Alvin, another draft thread?
Yes, I'm going to do one for all the need (thats a natter of opinion) positions.
Lichtensteiger turns 31 next month and LeRib was meh....
So lets address the stifled running game and get us a new Hog.
I want the Redskins to draft defense in the first two rounds so I'm going to target the third round to get a center.
I like the write up on these two kids.

Graham Glasgow - Six foot six inches or running lane making space.
(CBS Sports has him listed as a guard.)

Evan Boehm

How do you think Spencer Long would do at C? He was the back up behind McRib this year after Lict was injured.

Spencer Long, Trent Murphy might help Redskins by switching positions - Washington Redskins Blog- ESPN (http://espn.go.com/blog/washington-redskins/post/_/id/23387/spencer-long-trent-murphy-might-help-redskins-by-switching-positions)

Then AK could possibly fill the LG position. Would have a complete, big, bad, OL built from the draft.

They need to draft a RB in the first 3 rounds. I might take a center in the 4th or 5th... Boehm could be a good fit

No idea if the Long to center plan could work but if we knew it would, it would save us a draft pick.

i think they're going to try long there. taking a day 3 og/c type is never a bad move though.

Long has never played center. Plus he is the definition of average to slightly below average player. We need a stud in the middle of the line. Let's get one early in the draft. Someone who can hold up against the premier run stoppers. Pencil him in there as a day one starter. If that guy is BPA and he's there in round 1 or 2 I say make it happen.

I agree we need to upgrade RB, but I'm on board with taking C in the 3rd, especially if the Michigan kid is there.

I think Center is one of the biggest needs we have for next year. I'm tired of watching our C's get blown back into the back field.

I think we could wait a round or two and still get a decent back.
Shanny was always able to find stud RB's in later rounds.
Wasn't Alfmo also a later round pick?

Anyway, here's my logic...

Mediocre RB's can run well behind a stud line.
But, even a great RB can't get going behind a bad line.

C's are the guys that generally aren't good enough to be OG or OTs, so i'm not sure many are going to stop premier anythings. almost 0 centers are taken in the first, unless you're converting a guard, which is something you're already knocking long for. and you should never really draft a guy and expect him to be a quality starter from day 1. it happens sometimes, but outside the top 16, it usually take a bit for them to get it together.

as far as needing a stud, well.. we don't. our offense was fine (overall, obviously the run game sucked) and our D wasn't, so i'd be pretty surprised to see us go O in round 1.

So.. There's no chance at all for Austin Reiter (7th Round pick from last year) who is still on a futures contact -- to compete? Sounds like Long would be switching to a new position, vs. a guy who's done it before who McC drafted. Given no info about him all year, my gut feeling is he's only backup material, but throwing it out there.

Great crop of centers this year, probably get a really good prospect oin the 3rd.
