Damn. The quote "sometimes it's better to keep quiet and be thought a fool, rather than open your mouth and remove all doubt" applies. His words come off like, "Johnny is maturing, and sometimes part of that maturation process is socking your girl in the face." It's clear he tried to use tact but still did not come across effectively.
