That Guy

No way he is asking for 24, but franchise tags if he plays well (which he will) can bring u to that number real quick.
and if he doesn't play well, we could be paying 18m/year for dog turds.
I believe he's showed enough to merit a deal, but it is still a small sample size.

It is a small sample size, but like everything in life you have to look at quality and quantity. His performance in that sample size was literally record breaking shit. I hate when people say well it was against weak teams. Ive been watching the NFC East for almost 40 years and there is no easy game. Ever. The best case scenario for money and our team is to give him a deal, and lock him up and see more of what we saw this year. There are never any sure things however id rather gamble on him paying off than somehow him going elsewhere after next year or the year after and paying off elsewhere. That would kill me. It would kill the team.

I submit it's because he can only play 1.5 plays in a row at full speed.

I agree...he was always the last to get into his stance.
I remember seeing the ball being snapped while he was still only halfway down into his stance.
Gotta work on that endurance.

Cousins agrees to sign the tender. He can no longer negotiate with other teams. He is now on the roster on a one year deal worth a guaranteed $19.9M.
Irrefutable

subject to change, if a long term contract can be agreed to
keep in mind a long term contract could count much less than $20 million towards the cap. FYI.... Alex Smith got a big signing bonus, with a low salary in the first year.... resulting in a cap hit of $4.6 million in the first year... then $14.6 in year 2..... it makes sense for KC from a tax standpoint
