Nobody around here knew anything about that Joe Gibbs fella when he was hired, either. With this move, plus keeping the DC, it seems like the G-Men may be able to minimize the disruption of starting over. It could be a good move. Observing from afar, it just seemed to me that Coughlin didn't have the same energy as before.
