Niles Paul bulked up in the off season. He has good hands and a junk yard dog attitude. If his rehab goes well, we should be in better shape than most figure.

One of the first moves McLovin made was extending him through 2017.

He isn't going to be a 280lb heavy package blocker but will be much better blocking wise than anything we have had this year and is a legit receiving threat.

I wish he wouldn't gotten injured, between Paul and Reed
We will kill at the TE position.

They need a great blocker at TE neither Reed or Paul are good blockers. If the offense is going to be great next year they need a strong TE to help the running game .

our base package is going to be reed/dj/garcon/crowder/RB, and garcon is the only one with blocking ability out of that bunch, so i think they've forgone that train of thought for now.

getting our OL healthy and not using 2nd and 3rd stringers will help out a lot more than some reject TE that maxes 20 snaps a game. we've been using our tackle as the blocking TE and we have a fb too that we barely use, so it's not like they've been without that option.

Smith will be a primary blocking TE....it's an added bonus that he already knows to the offense.
