5-7 teams make plays like giving up a back breaking 45 yard return after tying it up. If we don't get a touchback it's literally pins and needles on the return. And they fucked it up tonight. And it was no surprise.
We still miss too many plays and give up too many to win often. Such as why we literally can't win 2 weeks in a row.
This loss was just absolutely terrible and there are no excuses for it. Could've gone in to next week looking to get over .500. Now, at best 6-7. I'm so pissed off still.
5-7 teams waste 3 takeaways by the defense and manage to just get 3 points off turnovers. This loss is squarely on the offense and their inability to score off these turnovers.

Yep. I was trying to explain earlier today in another thread that just because the 'Skins fell into 1st place for a week it shouldn't change the reality that we were a mediocre 5-6 team, it just happens that the rest of the division is too. The fact is the team plays like a .500/sub-.500 team. They don't have the talent of Dallas.
It's a rebuilding year and even though winning the division would be nice, we can't lose sight of the big picture, and 5-7 is about on track as far as what a lot of people were hoping for before the season started.
I was hoping for 8-8. Gonna be tough now. But 5-7 sounds better for us in terms of progress if you didn't watch all the games. Feels like we give some away. But again that's cause we're a 5-7 team. You are what your record is. Hope Scott nails this next draft.

We gotta get a center and a playmaker for the defense in the next draft.

C, Edge Rusher (Galette?), S, MLB, DT, RB
Edit: on the bright side I finally see a team that has a core. We are literally a draft/ FA period away from being true contenders.

Hey, I will just say this guys. It's year one of the Scot McCloughan era and IMO, 2015 is not a season in which our record should be the #1 thing we look at.
Hell, look at some of the guys we have brought in off the street like Blackmon, Mason, Dunbar etc etc....these guys are contributing like they were draft picks. These small things go overlooked but we have a real GM now and he has only had one offseason.
We should have no illusions of grandeur about the 2015 results meaning a whole lot in the big picture of this franchise. Would it be a nice bonus if we can be the NFC East team to stumble and bumble into the playoffs? Sure, however whether we end up 8-8 or 6-10, this is still just the beginning.

If we're 7-9 I don't want to make the playoffs. That's embarrassing.
Rather just say, hey, we improved 3 games, and we got a pretty good draft pick.
I really hope we don't end up worse than 7-9. 6-10 and 7-9 just seem like way different records.

So frustrating. A missed kick here. A bad call there (several actually). We could have won it but honestly, Dallas seemed like they wanted it more. That is disappointing. We looked like we were afraid to lose, not gunning to win. No killer instinct.

The only thing I'm happy about this season is that I think Cousins could be a good QB around here for a nice long while.
Otherwise, the more things change, the more they stay the same.
Very incouraged with Kirks play. They are way to conservative with him though. Time to unshackle Kirk!

Jay gruden should not have djax returning punts. Dumb coaching mistake squarely on him.
Our offense scares no one. That is squarely on Jay as well.
People talking about cousins are wasting their fucking breath. Please take time to look at the offense as a whole, it's not worth a shit.

Who cares what the team's record is if they make the playoffs? If you get in the tournament like Carolina did last year anything can happen.
Its really disappointing that at home the Skins couldn't beat a depleted Dallas team with control of the division on the line. The offensive line not being able to handle Dallas really set the tone early. In addition the officiating throughout the NFL is a disgrace. The games aren't fun to watch anymore since it seems every time a team gets going a ticky tack call puts an end to the flow.
