CRedskinsRule 10-21-2015, 02:45 PM People hating on DJax need to step back for 1 minute. His game is first built on speed, and shiftiness. A hamstring injury might just affect that kinda guy more than a DL. There are a lot of players in the NFL that have hamstring issues. And they can linger. On the last 2 days injury reports there are at least 15 players who have or are dealing with an ongoing hamstring issue. That's why you need back up players...

Just for the record I personally wasnt hating on DJax just our dumb luck with injuries. Especially his. I know that he is a burner and it is more bothersome to him, but I keep thinking he is coming back. Sucks to hear every week he aint.

I just think with Jackson he's getting near 30. I'd probably say his best years are behind him and we might need to spend the money he's making elsewhere. WR's are like RB's, they're a dime a dozen.
Wr's that are making near 10 million better be healthy and they better be putting up serious numbers. Not the case w/ Dax.

I get that we most likely won't keep him going forward, and we hopefully can use this time to see if Ross can step into his shoes. I just think what I perceived as hyper critical reviews of him aren't really warranted. When he's on the field he makes plays. And if a hamstring is hurt, for a player in his position that can be a lingering issue.
Again giving SM praise in that he drafted guys that could possibly take DJax's place after this year, it's just a shame that we don't get DJax on the field while they mature. It's not worth saying DJax is a bum or other things like that.

Understandable....the problem is Jackson is earning $8-9 million this season....money is beneficial for DeSean but not the team...a team wants to spend loaded cash on a player that's playing not on a player who is perpetually inactive.

And how much did the Patriots spend for Brady the year he was out? or How much did Pittsburgh spend when Big Ben was suspended? You make the contracts, and players play, but when they have a legitimate injury, then that just sucks, nothing more nothing less. The Ravens have 9 million dead money for Ray Rice. 7.5million for Haloti Ngata, who is currently playing on a different team.
If DJax didn't give it everything when he was on the field I understand. If he was a Malcolm Kelly who let every injury linger, I get it. But Djax goes out burns his body when he's on the field.
He had one season 2012, where he missed 5 games. He typically misses 1 or two, having played all 16 in only 2 of his seasons as a pro. I think he ought to get some benefit of the doubt that something is specifically wrong even if the team isn't being forthcoming on what it is...
doesn't make him a bum.

No, he isn't a bum by any stretch of the imagination. DeSean is still young and can still produce at a very high level. Brady and Rothlisberger are franchise quarterbacks. A wise and talented GM like McCloughan looks at every little thing. I'm willing to bet he has already imagined what the WR corp can be without Jackson. To partner with Garcon and Crowder, McCloughan could inject a Richard Sherman type or explosive receiving weapon like Lee Evans....injuries are apart of the NFL...it was suggested above that the Redskins could move on from Jackson... and it would be for the reasons I stated...

And that's fine, in the offseason, the decision time will come, and if they move on it's fine, but you referenced what the Skins are paying him. That's a sunk cost. He could just as easily have had his 6th 15+ game season and been a game changer who we stole.
rocnrik 10-21-2015, 07:25 PM DJAX… we need him to stretch field…BUT even if he does that does any team fear Cousins arm to get the ball to him?? From what I have seen Cousins does not have a big arm to scare anybody! getting Reed back is more important he can run the routes that Cousins can hit…as far as predictions with the bye week looming the Skins need this game bad..I will say if they lose Gruden is on the major hot seat..I think the Skins win in a close game 21 -20 ..we will see.
