In the Post today there is an article that states that Chad Morton has not been cleared to return to the field. If we reach an injury settlement with him, would that affect our cap differently than if he were released?

I think that we will have some cap grievance, but he is still on his way out no matter. Now that we have antonio brown who might be one of the top 5 fastest guys in the league and moss along with betts and thrash it is a wrap. We no longer have any use for him good luck in catching along with another team but his days as a redskin are done.

Then Matty will have to get rid of his Avatar.......... :)

Seriously, he's never earned his salary, never really contributed...........glad to see him go..........compare him to Thrash a hard working special teamer.........

I'd hate for Morton to get a bad rap from his stay here. He did fairly well in 2003 - he had a kick return for a touchdown in 2003 and another return for over 40 yards. He averaged nearly ten yards a punt return, despite the fact that he rarely returned punts with the Jets. (Non-Special Teams side note: he also started two games at running back, ending with a 4.5 YPC, with 18.75% of his carries going for first downs). 2004 was disappointing, but 6 games with a new coaching staff before a season ending injury shouldn't be a career year for anyone.
That being said, I don't know if he'll continue his career here, because of his health, his cap figure, and the talented young players vying for his spot.

Ten Points for using the word "vying"

I'm not sure of the specifics of injury-related settlements. We might get some relief but I doubt it would be much.
