Redskins release Kai Forbath, sign Dustin Hopkinsartmonkforhallofamein07 10-06-2015, 12:11 PM B-Hop is still awesome!! MTK 10-19-2015, 01:27 PM Haha Saints cut kicker Zach Hocker, sign Kai Forbath | ProFootballTalk (http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2015/10/19/saints-cut-kicker-zach-hocker-sign-kai-forbath/) JoeRedskin 10-19-2015, 02:59 PM Twice getting cut for Forbath. Not a really a resume builder. calia 10-19-2015, 06:01 PM So, if DHop misses a few FGs and we sign Hocker, the circle will continue. Wonder how long that can go? In all seriousness, I really like what we've seen of Hopkins so far. Honestly, he and Breeland were the only ones that seemed to play well against the Jets. kct1975 10-19-2015, 07:47 PM Haha Saints cut kicker Zach Hocker, sign Kai Forbath | ProFootballTalk (http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2015/10/19/saints-cut-kicker-zach-hocker-sign-kai-forbath/) LOL! Twice getting cut for Forbath. Not a really a resume builder. Exactly! So, if DHop misses a few FGs and we sign Hocker, the circle will continue. Wonder how long that can go? In all seriousness, I really like what we've seen of Hopkins so far. Honestly, he and Breeland were the only ones that seemed to play well against the Jets. I completely agree! I too like what I have seen so far! ethat001 10-19-2015, 11:04 PM Hopkins has been money and making McC's choice look like a great decision. Unfortunately we've seen kickers come and go based on a bad 1-2 games, so hope his good play continues. DynamiteRave 10-19-2015, 11:11 PM I don't think there's any downside to Hopkins yet. He's shown he has a strong leg and he's accurate. He missed a 50+ yard kick, then came back, corrected himself and made a 50+ yard kick. Can't hate too much on that. Barring some sort of catastrophic implosion, I think he'll at least make it through the season. Hog1 10-20-2015, 11:27 AM Well....Dempsey made a 63 yarder with half a foot. Sooo maybe he should be doing a bit better than that? ....just sayin' HailGreen28 10-20-2015, 11:47 AM Well....Dempsey made a 63 yarder with half a foot. Sooo maybe he should be doing a bit better than that? ....just sayin'LOL. Skins coach approaches Hopkins: "Sooo.... do you really need your toes on that foot?" :saywhat: Buffalo Bob 10-20-2015, 12:18 PM Well....Dempsey made a 63 yarder with half a foot. Sooo maybe he should be doing a bit better than that? ....just sayin' The way kickers kicked FGs back then (Straight approach), with the style of shoe Dempsey wore (A shortened old school kicking shoe with a larger front face) that half foot was actually a small advantage. Like with a golf club the larger face lessens the chance of a miss hit. Don't know if the modern FG kickers wear different shoes that the other players, but they did back in Dempsey's day. In today's NFL I doubt Dempsey would have been allowed to wear a special shoe, Goodell (I can't stand him) would have told him to were two identical shoes and stuff a sock in the one with the deformed foot. |
