He's got the deep speed and I think he's ready to get his shot. Not sure if he has Jackson's skill set, we'll see. But Jackson is just too much of a pain in the ass at this point. And we may need to draft a guy next year, but I'd like to see them move forward with the younger group and not Jackson and Roberts.

Im still confident D-Jax is going to be a big time difference maker this year but cant argue his diva/injury prone ways. Thats fo sho.

Getting BLOCKED. Our gunners were totally stuffed almost every time. I think Paul AND Hayward were the previous gunners.

Thanks for the answer even though that isn't the one that I wanted.

Considering they are the only TE's we have, I'd say they didn't have much choice. McCoy can block but he isn't fully up to speed yet.I understand that they were the only TEs available (which is a different issue on its own). But I would say going into a game knowing those were the only TEs available and that neither are good blockers then you shouldn't call plays that force them to make critical blocks in the run game. You make adjustments. For example GB and Seattle both use 3 wide receivers a RB and FB in I or Offset I and no TE in their run game. That's an adjustment.

Putting players in position where they are overmatched is how you end up with holding penalties from the TE spots and some failed runs due to their failed blocks.

The TE blocking is an issue they have to figure out becuase the next the Ram's actually have a good run defense unlike the Miami's whose run defense is only average.

Danny is a quality ST coach, he definitely wasn't the issue here.

Didn't Danny leave becaus he wanted to be closer to his aging parents. (Just from my aging memory)

You still call a deep ball from time to time, even though d jax went out.

desean going out really really hurt and gruden didnt seem prepared for it.

he left, i don't believe he was fired. in an interview he basically said he didn't want to be part of a full staff firing, and he saw that coming. (it's easier to land another job if you already have one, without the "i just got fired for incompetence" stigma).

^ this interview was when he thought (for some reason) he had a good shot at the DC head coaching job. he's been one of our better ST coaches (not that that's saying much).

-Some of the penalities were because players (TEs) were put in positions where the coaches should have realized there was potential for them to stuggle. Gotta have a better solution for blocking the POA. Neither Reed nor Carier are known for their blocking, putting them out there and expecting better results was a coaching mistake.

every thing is a coaching mistake at some level. Asking tight ends to block (a fundamental football move) is not first and foremost on the coaches, especially when your 2 main blocking TE's go out with season ending injuries. Penalties are on the player first nearly every time.

People need to realize this is our head coach's SECOND YEAR of EVER being a head coach. We hired a General Manager within THIS CALENDAR YEAR.

I know we all want to win and the losing starts to piss you off but jesus fucking christ what did you expect to see out there today???????

All we've talked about all off season is "It's okay to lose some games as long as we look improved." DID WE NOT LOOK IMPROVED??

Yes, there were still blown plays and things to fix but thats expected when you're REBUILDING. We knew we couldn't fix the entire team in one off season but I saw DEFINITE improvement.

It's disgusting to see some of the "fans" on here throwing in the towel when it's week 1. Have some faith and support your fucking team for once and maybe they'll reward you with some harder play.

I agree with 100% of this post. Couldn't have said, any of, this better myself Sevier.
