Danny was never really the ST issue. It says something when a team like the Steelers jumps at hiring at guy when you fire him.

Danny is a quality ST coach, he definitely wasn't the issue here.

god you remember Shanny replaced him with Keith Burns who was a flippin nightmare. from wiki: "In his first coaching position Keith Burns' Special Teams unit struggled during 2013 season. According to Football Outsiders, under Burns' leadership, the Washington Redskins' Special Teams unit finished the 2013 regular season ranked last in points compared to league average"

On a separate note, sounds like the depth chart was re-done. A little surprising (to me, at least) to see Robinson filling in for Ihenacho instead of Johnson (is that guy in the witness protection program?). Crowder has now displaced Roberts as the PR -- good news as far as I am concerned.

Trent Murphy needs to take a backseat to Preston Smith

Trenton Robinson has been a better player than Jeron. Thats just a fact...

-Some of the penalities were because players (TEs) were put in positions where the coaches should have realized there was potential for them to stuggle. Gotta have a better solution for blocking the POA. Neither Reed nor Carier are known for their blocking, putting them out there and expecting better results was a coaching mistake.

good - the first half up to the 2 min mark, solid D scheme and concept

bad - penalties killed us, another special teams TD, play calling didnt adapt for losing d jax. gruden sd we had 6 or 7 plays drawn up for d jax on PA ..... so d jax goes down and we dont stretch the field at all? you might as well have colt in there then.

ugly - D jax going down. idk if he would have still pulled his hammy or the stats but i would venture that guys who dont take any live snaps in PS are more injury prone in week 1 for things like hammys.

I was trying to get a little work done so I decided to only watch when the Redskins were on offense and everything else I listened on the radio in my workshop. What is wrong with the kick coverage? Is it mental mistakes, like players not staying in their lanes and taking bad pursuit angles or are they getting blocked, outrun, and run over? Hopefully it is the former as that is coachable the later needs new players.

Getting BLOCKED. Our gunners were totally stuffed almost every time. I think Paul AND Hayward were the previous gunners.

Considering they are the only TE's we have, I'd say they didn't have much choice. McCoy can block but he isn't fully up to speed yet.

Totally agree about Jackson not being ready for the season, but does Ross have the type of speed Jackson does??

He's got the deep speed and I think he's ready to get his shot. Not sure if he has Jackson's skill set, we'll see. But Jackson is just too much of a pain in the ass at this point. And we may need to draft a guy next year, but I'd like to see them move forward with the younger group and not Jackson and Roberts.
