I wonder whether Preston Smith takes over for Murphy next week. Murphy seemed invisible to me on D, whereas Smith generated the most exciting defensive play we've had in a while. Pot Roast was pretty quiet too -- not a lot of push, although the run D was stout. Paea was quiet too. And I didn't even notice of Jean-Frnacois was on the field. The D line was good against the run, but didn't really push the pocket too much, with the exception of Hatcher on a few plays.

I like the hits I saw from Goldson -- would be happier if he were a step closer to the ball and could break up passes instead of nail the receiver after the catch. The safety for Miami was all over the place -- some guy I had never heard of, but man he is quick.

Ok -- here's something incredible.

Suh + Wake -- combined for 1 tackle and no sacks! If you had told me that we would pull that off before the game, I would have assumed either that one of both of them got hurt or that we win the game.

Thank you, Coach Callahan. That was pretty amazing. Can you do it again next week, please? We promise that after next week, we won't be seeing a pass rush like that for a long time.

Gotta say...Alfmo was just freakin awesome. He really showed me something yesterday

What impresses me most about him is his ability to turn what looks like a loss
or no gain into 3-4 yards.

I think JG has to play it conservative with his unproven QB. I think things will open up as the season moves on.

I don't buy that for one second. He had no problem with passing the ball on third and forever where most competent coaches would have called a draw or a screen pass. Can you explain that?

Now that the anger is gone, we have definitely upgraded in the trenches, which has been neglected by this team for as long as i can remember. Reed must stay healthy. Garcon seems to be back to the 2013 version. Our secondary is better, but still needs help. Our run game is spot on. KC is serviceable at least and good at best - lets see how he grows up this year (or if he grows up). D-Jax durability is now a really big concern. Gruden did nothing to win me over this week. Last year he seemed to abandoned the run game every week, and now he seems to not no when to go to the air. He , like KC, needs to grow into his shoes. Although I have a bad feeling about him doing so where as KC i believe will. We need a pass rusher desperately- Galette injury was brutal.
Needs rite now - pass rusher, cb, maybe one more solid piece to the oline, deep threat, kicker, and probably another decent tight end. But all in all my opinion of the direction of this team has changed and I believe that next year we will be a force. This year if Gruden can get a handle on things and we avoid key injuries I think we can actually be a playoff team. Next week already seems like a must win.
Edit : anyone who questions weather SM is going to be around for long should be banned for one week minimum. Lol. He is building from the inside out which is what you need to do. No more icing first cake second. Build a strong foundation in the trenches and than we can decorate later. We are only a few pieces away rite now. Again our HC is the big question mark imo.
