the best part was JAR JAR had no speaking lines:) . the movie was really good, by far, the best of the "new" three.

Good movie, but some of the dialogue made me laugh out loud.

yeah the dialogue was pretty weak at spots but the movie definitely had its strengths as well. That opening scene is the best in the series in my opinion especially the stuff with R2-D2. General Grievious was pretty wicked and Yoda was a freakin champ in a bunch of scenes. I really liked it cuz I felt sorry for Anakin at the same times that I hated who he became. I was kinda pissed not to see Chewie actually do anything and I wanted to see samuel l fighting like mace did in the clone wars stuff on cartoon network.

Let's face it, the dialogue of all 6 movies is weak, but it's not the dialogue people go to see.

it was fine in the first three... i watched ep3 last night, didn't like it at all...

all the acting was wooden (except the emporer and yoda), it was super simplistic (felt like it was written for 6 year olds with no attention span, they kept repeating the major plot point endlessly into mundane detail), and the movie felt really disjointed. On top of that, it was way too long, i got pretty bored of it. I don't think i'll ever watch it again.

I haven't seen it yet...going tonight...so for now, I just have a comment:

You can really tell which posters are older and grew up with the original trilogy, as opposed to the younger ones that respect the originals, but don't have the emotional attachment of living through the phenomenon that it was. Consider this: In 1977-83 there was no internet, most people didn't have cable TV yet, video games were in their infant stage, VCR's were new and expensive (and the idea of renting movies was yet to come).....so people actually went to the movies! And if they liked it, they went again!
I guess for us older guys, seeing and hearing that opening in a theater just brings a emotional response like being a kid again, and people who are too young to have been there just don't get that. Yeah, like most people, for me the first two prequels were a little disappointing, and the dialogue has always been lacking, even in the originals....But still, it's a new Star Wars movie! And from what I've heard/read, this one stacks up better with the original three...so I can't wait!!!

I never saw the originals. I did watch I, II, and III in the theaters. I have liked each one better than the last. Three had a lot of action in it, but I felt like the light saber battles were always too close to the screen. I also felt sorry for Anakin, but was pissed off at him as I watched it unfold.

Planning on watching IV, V, and VI tonight.

I hate that Lucas is now SWIMMING in money. Anyone ever see that Mad TV where they did a spoof of him driving around in a golf cart dressed like an Ewok?
