He wasn't burned out from football. Portis was saying that he wanted to be out of the spot-light and scrutiny for a while... He was under some Self INduced heat last year and in the offseason no one is watching his every move and he is enjoying it right now. I think That is the point Portis is trying to make.

If that's the case I'd say he failed pretty miserably. Want to stay out of the spotlight?.....don't be the only player on the team to miss OTAs without an excuse and don't refuse to call your coach back. I can't help but think we wouldn't be talking about him so much if he had just shown up.

And if we were talking, it would only be positive things. VERY stupid to think doing this would keep you out of the spotlight.

Not even an issue. I would let him sit for the rest of his carreer before I redid that contract.

well i'm gonna say i told you so when bledsoe drops the bomb on bowen

Drew is going to have enough problems behind a line with 2 aging players and a free agent who just had back surgery......we just need to generate a pass rush to take care of Drew.........he's easily rattled ........

And if Taylor wants to stay out of the spotlight........don't drink too much at parties, stay home and study game film instead...........

I would like to see them restructure the current contract so that it is about what the other guys who held out longer than he did got. He did sign in time to get into camp. If that worked against him, fix it. I'm not suggesting a major fix or a totally reworked contract, just an adjustment to reward him for his play and making sure he got to camp last year in time to learn the defense and make an impact.

Monk. The judge in the case said it was obvious Taylor wasn't drunk and threw out charges. Why in the hell do we hold this over his head. He was proven innocent.

Good post GoSkins - curious what people would have said had he held out for a deal to get what he was worth.

If he was so innocent why did he refuse a breathalyzer test.....maybe he wouldn't have had to go to court for the judge to throw it out.............
