Im not a fan of Trump but I think 99% of what he is saying is done for the sole purpose of winning over the angry red meat portion of this country. If trump for some god awful reason actually won the presidency .. Id bet he would be more liberal than Hillary.

The power of branding and social media is huge right now.

All these seminars I go to all say the same thing - to win people over, spoon feed them with simple thoughts. If you cant put it on a bumper sticker, you have not reduced it to its simplest most elementary level. If you speak in very simple terms and very simple thoughts, the human brain accepts what is said as true and stays on auto pilot.

The minute you start using big words or require a listener's brain to link thoughts together to arrive at a not-simple thought, that is the minute you have just awoken the listener's brain and now that brain will critically question everything you will say .. and if what you are now saying is not consistent with the listener's pre-established thought board ... you are in trouble, you have now lost the listener.

You have to know your audience. Then you have to stay on code.

Trump is just repeating red meat bumper sticker thoughts and sleep walking a large portion of republicans who hate RINOs. His new bumper sticker the past few weeks has been "you're so PC". I dont even know if Trump has a platform idea outside "build a wall". It doesnt matter. He stays on code as someone outside the establishment and he wins every voter who hates the government. His supporters literally wear tin foil hats.

Cruz is trying to to appeal to the slightly more awake republican voters by staying on code re. "the war against christianity", "the war against life (abortion)" and "the war against the 2A". He is just a layer or two less simple then trump.

amazing, you can win an election just on a clever hashtag alone.

Yeah he's definitely hitting on lowest common denominator stuff, especially with those that are a little challenged in the critical thinking arena. Racism, xenophobia, sexism, lashing out at "disrupters" with violence (but then claiming no responsibility when the shit hits the fan like he asks for).

We're gonna build a wall, we're going to start winning again, we need to make great deals, honestly WTF does this shit even mean when it comes to running the country? I've heard more insightful platforms from children running for class president.

The Republicans are in full on panic mode now...

As a former republican - now more libertarian - it's good to see the Republican party get shaken up. There needs to be debate within that party as to why Trump has gotten so much support from those who would generally be Republican. They need to reflect internally and figure out why the Tea Party, and Trump have gained so much traction.

As to this year's presidential campaign, if it ends up being Trump against Hillary we may see the roughest, dirtiest campaign since Lincoln's. And if I am being honest, I'm ok with that. Britain has some vicious elections campaigns, but guess what, the system survives. The call for playing nice rings hollow as Hillary makes bitter attacks couched in political correct jargon.

It will be Trump v. Hillary and the ultimate loser will be the Constitution. Each has, in their own way, made it clear - foundational document be damned - they will do what they will and, if you oppose them, you are either stupid or un-American.

Reading the comments form blaze is just blood boiling. Dude, its a 15 year old girl, she probably did get touched inappropriately from her immediate reaction and a light punch doesnt deserve mace in the face.

This guy is something else. Naming Fiorina as his "running mate"? He's desperate as hell after getting his ass handed to him Tuesday by Trump. This guy should go ahead and bow out. It's over. Trump has a 991 to 568 lead on Cruz and Lyin Ted has no shot of winning. I think it's mathematically impossible for him to win.

I loved how Trump responded...

they're just trying to stop trump from hitting 1237. if he can't get there, they can go to the convention, get a 2nd ballot and anyone can end up as the nominee. most of them would lose to clinton though... and most people don't even like her.

Interesting thought, but I think you are giving Trump too much credit. Is he clueless- yes. Is there a method behind that cluelessness - Me thinks not.
