TheMalcolmConnection 03-21-2016, 09:25 AM Im not cool with any violence at all from anyone. But I would ask the protesters why even participate in the charade? This is exactly what trump wants...and for the protesters, I think this is just another "look at me" event. They want to be part of the reality tv show.
End the end...Dems want to run against Trump. This election will be a landslide for the Dems against Trump. I guarantee it. No way Trump wins.
Was more aiming this at Hog1.
Just find it ironic how much he preaches "CONSTITUTION! FREE SPEECH!" yet when someone doesn't agree with his message, "Get 'em outta' here." and the supporters each that shit up. I mean how stupid are they to not see the person they're supporting just contradicted himself?!
I've said it once and I'll say it again: I feel like I'm taking crazy pills.

I had some friends over last night and was saying this social media world we live in today is making us dumber. Instead of sitting back and thinking about things, its become a world of "instant stupid." Trump has tapped into this.
Schneed10 03-21-2016, 10:44 AM Hog just stop. Your argument makes no sense. Just bite the bullet and move on. You can't dig out of a hole by continuing to dig.

Everyone has an opinion and they aren't afraid to voice it. Problem is more often than not it's a completely uninformed one, anyone that can read a headline suddenly is an expert on the matter.

agree. There also seems to the be less middle ground on issues, because if your not "all in" then you criticized on both sides. your an apologist, on the side you may "lean" towards....and then your "hitler, racist, bigot, satan, sexist, anti-, etc" to the opposite.
critical thinking is not acceptable...you better get in line
Get in line or get smacked apparently lol

Trump could address and stop the violence...he's not.
Its like a WWE wrestling match...Trump is Vince McMahon, a promoter.
His supporters don't want him to talk issues and substantive plans....they just want him to verbal bitch slap someone and see someone get DDT'd at a rally.
JoeRedskin 03-21-2016, 01:36 PM All the thuggery and inherent violence at these rallies just strike me as tactics used by the communists, brown-shirts and black-shirts in 1920's - 30's Germany. By both sides - those disrupting the rallies as well as those suppressing the disruptions. All of it is contrary to the underlying principle of the 1st Amendment and the concept of free speech - "I may not agree with what you say but I will defend to the death your right to say it."
[My caveat to this is that I am only speaking of the folks interrupting the rallies and shouting down speakers as they carry out the assembly, not those who protest them outside and engage peacefully while allowing others to speak freely]
Those disrupting the rallies are trying to prohibit or at least inhibit the ability of Trump supporters to gather in peaceful assembly and speak their minds. You may not agree with it, but, if they have a permit and are not fomenting immediate armed revolution, they can pretty much say whatever they want. If you want to disrupt that, interrupt that, or otherwise limit them from doing so by shouting, interrupting, or preventing them from speaking, you are acting in a manner that I believe is contrary to the principles of free speech (even if you personally are not violating the First Amendment which only prohibits the govt. from limiting speech).
However, the appropriate response is to have the authorities escort folks outside, away from the lawful gathering, where they can peacefully protest the message to their hearts content. It is not to beat the crap out of them. That's vigilantism, thuggism, taking-the-law-into-your-own-hands-ism. It is also precisely the tactics used by groups seeking to subvert the rule of law in Europe during the inter-war years.
In a democratic society where we supposedly value free speech, neither those disrupting the actual rallies or those attempting to violently suppress the disruptions have a claim to the moral high ground.
To those disrupting the rallies as they occur - take your protest someplace else don't seek confrontation as a way of preventing people whose message you don't like from speaking.
To those acting violently, threatening violence, encouraging violence or tacitly approving violence as a means for shutting down disruptive protests, just stop. You have no right to do so. None. It is criminal thuggery and reminiscent of evil times.
Both sides scream "free speech" but have no desire to engage in the political discourse it was meant to protect. People just want the freedom to scream hate at each other.
Sorry, just my rant.
over the mountain 03-21-2016, 01:46 PM Im not a fan of Trump but I think 99% of what he is saying is done for the sole purpose of winning over the angry red meat portion of this country. If trump for some god awful reason actually won the presidency .. Id bet he would be more liberal than Hillary.
The power of branding and social media is huge right now.
All these seminars I go to all say the same thing - to win people over, spoon feed them with simple thoughts. If you cant put it on a bumper sticker, you have not reduced it to its simplest most elementary level. If you speak in very simple terms and very simple thoughts, the human brain accepts what is said as true and stays on auto pilot.
The minute you start using big words or require a listener's brain to link thoughts together to arrive at a not-simple thought, that is the minute you have just awoken the listener's brain and now that brain will critically question everything you will say .. and if what you are now saying is not consistent with the listener's pre-established thought board ... you are in trouble, you have now lost the listener.
You have to know your audience. Then you have to stay on code.
Trump is just repeating red meat bumper sticker thoughts and sleep walking a large portion of republicans who hate RINOs. His new bumper sticker the past few weeks has been "you're so PC". I dont even know if Trump has a platform idea outside "build a wall". It doesnt matter. He stays on code as someone outside the establishment and he wins every voter who hates the government. His supporters literally wear tin foil hats.
Cruz is trying to to appeal to the slightly more awake republican voters by staying on code re. "the war against christianity", "the war against life (abortion)" and "the war against the 2A". He is just a layer or two less simple then trump.

amazing, you can win an election just on a clever hashtag alone.
