SFREDSKIN 08-07-2015, 11:55 PM Coaches really are intrigued by the possibility of this Scherff-Moses right side. Again, no final decisions are made. But they believe that they have a chance to develop into a formidable tandem. Yes, Washington spent a fifth overall pick on Scherff, and people will say that’s too high to take a guard. But Bill Callahan doesn’t care about that.
.
How cool would it be to have a dominant line. It will fix many of our QB probs.....
I would pitch in to buy RGIII a chair, cause he could sit behind that line and pick and choose what he wants to do.

Me and Bill don't care...

Seriously, is anyone going to complain if Scherff is a perennial Pro Bowler at guard?? A quality player is a quality player, period.
And I still think this says more about the development of Moses vs Scherff not being able to handle RT... If both of these guys turn out to be studs it's a win/win for us.
KI Skins Fan 08-08-2015, 12:52 AM Not sure who was saying it, but somewhere on the twitterverse, from one of the local insider types, were several comments about how AK was looking really good and taking some snaps with the 1's.
As to Scherff or Long to LG if Moses has really stepped it up and is ready to go as the starting RT -- okay. works for me. Having played line (a bazillion years ago), I would suggest it is a more difficult move from RG to LG than it is from RT to RG. Since everything works out from the center, all of a sudden your playing a mirror image of what you were doing before.
I see what you mean about the difficulties in moving to the other side of the line. My thought was simply about putting the best five linemen on the field together, since that is said to be Callahan's preference. I don't know if Callahan sees O-Linemen as generic pieces to be moved around until he discovers the best combination of players or what exactly he means by putting the best five OL on the field.
It's possible, in Callahan's mind, that Lauvao might be the best LG right now without being one of the top five OL. Or maybe he is one of the top five linemen. i don't know what Callahan thinks in that regard. But if Scherff, Long, and Moses are three of the top five generic linemen, I wonder if Callahan would move either Scherff or Long to LG.

What the hell? This is getting ridiculous.
With the new strength & conditioning program, as well as the new warm-up process, was really hoping strained groins/hamstrings would be minimized.
It feels like we have as many as before.
And seriously, we can't keep ONE cornerback healthy???

Yeah agree. Moses stood out on the one on on drills. I wouldn't put him in hall yet, but to take this step to starter would be huge for the team.
On the one on one online drills with Houston's dline, I thought spencer long held up better than anyone else within our interior.
Side note about training camp, the Richmond facility is outstanding. Every time I've been down there it been a great experience. Very very gud time for the kids. If you've never been down you are missing out. It's the perfect way to get you pumped for the season, I've been drinking nothing but Kool aid since.

Damn that's a brawl
Joint practice is over because of the fights. Should make for some good TV on Hard Knocks.
"It looks like Brave Heart out there!"
.........lol
calia 08-08-2015, 02:46 PM Did I see JG brandishing a belt? (And, no, I don't mean Jay Gruden.)
Seriously, that's crazy. Fight breaks out between our O and their D, and then second later on the opposite field, our D and their O go at it. Never seen anything like that.
I will say this -- the tackle on the Redskins back that appears to have started it seemed like the guy was aiming for knees. Grainy video from my vantage point, so I could be wrong, but it seemed like the Redskins had something legitimate to be unhappy about.
Looks like lots of folks on the sidelines would have had a very good view of what happened, and it's hard to imagine someone wasn't recording it with a smartphone or something. I will bet videos start lighting up the internet.
