It's good to hear he's still very active even to the extent of continueing his regular work out, but it's never good news to hear that the head coach, who's had stress and work load almost burn him out in his last tenure, underwent a surgery to help clear out an artery no matter how minor the blockage was or how regular the procedure was.
I'm glad to hear he's doing fine though and that he remains adamant in him staying atleast through the life of his contract if not past that in a FO type of way.

It's always a concern when someone has a "procedure" but given his age and health issues this should alert us that we need to be prepared for him to not be able to coach at some point. Possibly sooner than we hope. I am not saying he is going anywhere but we need to realize that it is a definite possibility.

People think I'm crazy but I think he looks better now than in the 80's when he was kinda fat. Get well coach!!!!

Yeah, I think he looks very healthy. His interviews I've seen recently aren't showing it either.

I just wish him well. Nobody will be able to deal with Gibbs dying. :oink:

That's because he didn't have all those wrinkles...maybe the extra fat stretched them out a bit...lol!
Probably also when you're winning it gives off a healthier impression......but right now...I hate to say it, Gibbs can run for a longer period of time than I can...hahahahaha!!!!

This is a standard procedure--it didn't even keep him out of work. Glad he had it done, and is back at it and healthy.

Having just gome through the JV version of implanting a stent, I obviously wish Joe Gibbs well and pray for his 100% recovery.
I would like to point out something to everyone here.
Joe Gibbs kept this "procedure" quiet; he did not even tell everyone on the Redskins' staff. The Redskins organization said in a statement that they made no mention of this because they believed that it was a personal matter for Joe Gibbs to deal with in whatever way he wanted to deal with it. And they were absolutely right to do so!! Left to the wishes of Joe Gibbs and the Redskins, this would never have been in the papers.
But Nunyo Demasio got the story and confronted Gibbs with it in a Q&A session and broke the story. Now you can be angry with Demasio for making Joe Gibbs reveal something private about his life. But remember this the next time you want to try to make the case that Demasio is a sloppy reporter. He's not. He got the scoop on something that Gibbs and the Redskins wanted to keep private and made it into a story. Nunyo Demasio may not be the most congenial and fun-loving guy on the block, but he is a fine reporter...
