Kirk just named starter for 2015. Period.

Yup. Time to move on. Kirk is the man, lets support Cousins as the starting QB for the 2015 Skins.

Just watched First Take on ESPN...
Everyone on the show, except Skip Bayless, agreed that both the Redskins and RG3 need to move on.
Both Shannon Sharp and Jeff Saturday commented on the reasons that RG3 needs to "retool" his game, and needs to find a situation that fits him.
Skip Bayless instead, completely blamed the Redskins organization and Jay Gruden.
Skip Bayless is a complete idiot.
I swear that they keep him on tv just because his ignorance makes people tune in.

If he could just learn to throw the ball away or take a sack instead of throwing it when nobody is open he could be a solid qb in this league.
Edit: i think he gets it, but he just needs to learn to live to fight another day. Im suddenly more excited for the season. DJax needs to be 100%, and we just might have a punchers chance this year.

In Scot I trust, but . . .
I mean, if all the rumors are true, if he is a locker room cancer or bad for morale or whatever, if he won't ever be able to develop into a pocket passer, if he refuses to put in the mental work required, if his head has been ruined by the injuries and he's lost his self confidence as QB, then yeah I guess it's time to move on.
And yet, After all we put in to drafting him, to give up on him after 3 years, one of which he brought us to the playoffs, it just doesn't sit right with me. I mean, we gave Jason Campbell more time than that, and sure, he was a robot and didn't give the media much to play with, but I wouldn't characterize him as an inspirational leader either, right?
Campbell Stats
2009 Redskins 64.5 3,618 20 15 86.4
2008 Redskins 62.3 3,245 13 6 84.3
2007 Redskins 60.0 2,700 12 11 77.6
2006 Redskins 53.1 1,297 10 6 76.5
RG3 Stats
2014 Redskins 68.7 1,694 4 6 86.9
2013 Redskins 60.1 3,203 16 12 82.2
2012 Redskins 65.6 3,200 20 5 102.4
If Scot was not here I would be squarely against this move. But I will put my faith behind him over RG3 for sure
2 big differences are the injuries, and the locker room distraction. If Griffin came everyday, didn't create media storms with his mantras, and stayed healthy, we probably would not be at this point.
Of course maybe it's for the better that this didn't go another year.

I have one question that still baffles me. If all these things were issues, why pick up that option?
I mean it almost seems like Snyder said "we will pick up that option. Case closed"
just foolish to pick up that option with all the lack of performance on field and perceived locker room issues.
It might have come from Snyder.
Or I could see McLoughan and Gruden's logic being we need to give RG3 complete positive support, affirm him with a $16M option (even though it has no teeth and doesn't commit us), and pump him up as our starter because we flat out have no better option. They may have done this under the belief that Robert would benefit from a year in the offseason program.
If I were McLoughan and I were brand new I can definitely see me doing this.
But here in the preseason it's been same old crap from Robert, including disruptive handling of the media (I just work here). The option was probably viewed as a tool to send a positive message to him, but now that it's clear that he is not improving despite an offseason in the program and despite positivity, it's time to cut bait. And now the option hurts.
Whatever, just cut him. Nobody was ever going to give more than a 7th rounder anyway.
