If the Skins have $8.5-9 million of Cap space this year why not use it now?
wouldn't it still be a 6mm cap hit if he is on the team? Best to rip the bandaid off and get rid of the circus and confirm to Kirk that he is the man for the year.

Not gonna lie I'm glad it's over and yes I was a huge fan of his but the drama and all that needs to go. I'd trade him for a 4 or 5 and say good luck.
PS also glad our QB won't be wearing some dumb sleeve and glove on just one arm either that got annoying.
Right there with ya. I remember I was at my friend's house (he was a huge Saints fan) for the first game of his rookie year when he lit up the Saints and we won. I was so ecstatic, from that moment on I truly thought we were gonna be set for years to come. Now I can't wait until he's gone so we can get on with rebuilding the roster.

I think I'm going to take a break from the Warpath for a while, this is too much
There has to be more to this decision. Is Matty forcing you to do this so that Rave can post more????

In Scot I trust, but . . .
I mean, if all the rumors are true, if he is a locker room cancer or bad for morale or whatever, if he won't ever be able to develop into a pocket passer, if he refuses to put in the mental work required, if his head has been ruined by the injuries and he's lost his self confidence as QB, then yeah I guess it's time to move on.
And yet, After all we put in to drafting him, to give up on him after 3 years, one of which he brought us to the playoffs, it just doesn't sit right with me. I mean, we gave Jason Campbell more time than that, and sure, he was a robot and didn't give the media much to play with, but I wouldn't characterize him as an inspirational leader either, right?
Campbell Stats
2009 Redskins 64.5 3,618 20 15 86.4
2008 Redskins 62.3 3,245 13 6 84.3
2007 Redskins 60.0 2,700 12 11 77.6
2006 Redskins 53.1 1,297 10 6 76.5
RG3 Stats
2014 Redskins 68.7 1,694 4 6 86.9
2013 Redskins 60.1 3,203 16 12 82.2
2012 Redskins 65.6 3,200 20 5 102.4
If Scot was not here I would be squarely against this move. But I will put my faith behind him over RG3 for sure

The cap hit on RG3 is the least understood thing out there. Here's a simple breakdown:
- If he stays on the roster, his cap hit this year is $6.7M
- If he's cut, his cap hit this year is $6.7M, no savings, no extra burden
- If he's traded, his cap hit this year is $3.3M, a savings of $3.4M
The cap is a non-issue in this decision.

The reason a trade reduces the cap hit is that the team acquiring him would be responsible for picking up the $3.4M guaranteed salary. If nobody takes on that contract via a trade, the Redskins are on the hook for it. So that's why they want to deal him. Also, it would save Snyder $3.3M in actual $, so obviously he has a vested interest in seeing a trade happen.
But the cap is of no consequence here.

I have one question that still baffles me. If all these things were issues, why pick up that option?
I mean it almost seems like Snyder said "we will pick up that option. Case closed"
just foolish to pick up that option with all the lack of performance on field and perceived locker room issues.
