Robert Griffin III ready to turn career around with Redskins in 2015

Stop spreading your toxicity. I swear people should be banned for saying stupid shit like "Jay is planning on Robert being injured"

If you honestly believe a football coach wants a QB hurt so he can play another makes you insane.

Not saying planning on it, but maybe anticipating it. I think last year's drama should have made it plainly evident that Gruden doesn't want RG III to be the starter but is hamstrung by his boss. If RG III really hasn't improved do you think he is going to last past week 6 given our schedule? I don't think coach Gruden wants to see RG III hurt at all, but I think he might be anticipating the odds of Robert going down if there is no significant progression come week 1. I mean face it, if Robert keeps running into the open arms of those Miami Defensive linemen do you think he is going to last long?

Also that is not toxicity, that is speculation, and not just on my part. Many folks on NFL.com asked that same question during and after the game on the game thread and the RG III injury article thread. I am not the only Skins fan that was outright startled at the inept line play. Gruden stated that the only way Robert loses the starting job is via injury and it is common knowledge that Gruden isn't a big fan, thus an opening for a conspiracy theory of sorts. I don't think Gruden wants him hurt on purpose, he is the best athlete of the 3 QBs out there, but he definitely anticipates it if Robert doesn't show any progression come opening game day.

Griffin is a R/O QB. I don't care if Gruden refuses to play that system or if RGIII refuses to play it. Get rid of them both if this is case.

Gruden has been a subpar coach and while shanahan's downfall is his ego over player personnel (especially when he doesn't know anything about defensive personnel) at least he recognized the only way to succeed with RG was running R/O

Since Mike S is back trying to re-write history about Griffin and the read-option 2013:

Holy crap where has that guy gone?? On those dropbacks he looks so comfortable,he's sliding away from pressure,he just looks like a totally different qb then he does now.His mechanics and instincts now look like shit compared to then

The offensive line is a lot better than what you are giving credit for. Kirk had 8 sacks in 6 games last year as opposed to 33 in 7 games by Robert. The OL is fine. Is it the best? Absolutely not, but it's enough to make a 6th round RB look like a star the past 3 years. Also, our line is rated better than the Patriots as well. I heard Kevin Sheehan use the ridiculous argument. RG3 took a lot of sacks and many them were his fault. That is true. However, RG3 faults doesn't change the FACT that our Oline got manhandled consistently. They couldn't open holes in the running game that is one of the reason AM barely eclipsed 1000 (a career low). Lets be honest, with out that read option he would never had 1600 and 1300 yard seasons. With RG3 on the field he has room to run. Without him he struggles to get 50 yards in a game behind our line. That's not my opinion, it's a fact. If you watched all of the games last year you'll see no matter who we play our Olinemen gets pushed in the backfield consistently on passing and running plays. Now Kirk might have taken less sacks but our offense was just as ineffective.

If we want RG3 to be successful this year then we have to start running more of the read option. I do believe he's gotten better as a pocket passer, but he's at his best when we're running the read option. I say let the man go out there and do what he does best and slowly but surely develop his abilities from the pocket. I'm seeing other teams running the read option. Why are we not running it? What do you guys think?

seeing we are talking about the OL ..to make matters worse we use our top pick on a Guard..(he can't beat out Morgan for the Tackle spot..and Moses was what a 3rd round pick..) Scherff will have to be a pro bowl player for years to justify the number 5 spot to play Guard.I am glad we drafted a OL but we could have gotten that level of player in the middle of the first round with an added top player say another OL OR TE..

Read option is going to get him killed eventually. This is why I think Gruden is just going to play him, hope for the best and let the chips fall where they will.

I keep hearing people say that, but in reality the opposite is true. The biggest hits he's taken has been in the pocket. If anything it looks like he's going to get killed in pocket. And if what you think is true why not make the best of the situation and get the most out of him? In my opinion it's no reason to stop doing what works.

I agree with you to a certain extent. Read Option is best for him, but he isn't as mobile as in pre injury 2012. He just isn't the same guy, hence that is why I think he eventually would get smacked down really bad eventually. I just don't see how this whole drama is going to have a happy ending. You have a QB that is trying to become something he is not, and you have a veiled civil war going on between the HC and management. Yeah Gruden is playing nice for now, but who knows what it is going to be like if Robert either gets hurt or just doesn't get the job done. All we have to do is pray for a miracle that Robert gets it together before he sustains another major injury. Gruden's as well as the Skin's future is now dependent on RG III for better or for worse. If Gruden gets fired after this season, the chances of ever getting a decent HC in the near to mid term will be nil, if it isn't already considering we basically got stuck with Gruden IMHO.
