Pretty much if gruden cannot develop rg3 both are gone. Is that pretty much the deal with McC? I guess is rg3 went down and Kirk could somehow be gruden saving grace if he would could get them close to the playoffs.
Jay Gruden is a lame duck coach. He's fucked and he probably knows it(we do at least). Hey, at least he walks away with a shit ton of cash from those extra 3 years remaining on his contract.

50+ other players on this roster. I support whoever is wearing a Redskins Uniform but if RG3 is stinking it up and showing no sign of improvement. He needs to be replaced by Kirk

What make u think rg3 can develop into a pocket passer? U seem pretty adamant that this is still a possibility. So was gruden the wrong coach to make this happen or is it the complete failure of Sean mcvay.
It's amazing to me how unnoticed Sean mcvay is to fans. We give grief to gruden and rg3...but mcvay is giving some sort of pass. Unbelievable IMO.
Where do you get the impression from that I'm adamant he can be developed into a pocket passer?

I do not really disagree with you. Both Colt and KC look better and run the O better than Robert at this time. BUT, they need some time with the first team to see if they can handle it. In the past they both have had serious ball control/turnover problems..........
Most QBs have ball control issues in their first 9 starts. The weird thing is many of them get better the more they play.

It's hard for us Skins fans to face this one hard truth: we don't have a quarterback.
So all the consternation over who starts, I don't think it really matters too much. I can't blame Snyder for saying if healthy RG3 has to start. None of the other QBs have stepped forward in a way that screams that they're obviously better than RG3. If we're going to be competitive it's on the rest of the team.
So McLoughan marches forward with building up the rest of the team, and probably knowing that QB is high on his shopping list next season.
Tough reality to swallow, but that's it.

I cannot personal speak for KI Skins Fan, but my understanding is that he is proving that Dan Synder likes to control everything.
Dan's controlling nature and his love for RG3 are the reasons why I and several other on this site believe that no matter what RG3 may do wrong or KC/Colt do right, the starting Quarterback on September 13 will be RG3.
Personally I just wish that Dan Synder would allow his own coaches to chose the Quarterback that can best run the Offense, and best run the team.
Please understand that I am seriously hoping that RG3 can turn things around, as he is the most athletic of the Quarterbacks that we have, but right now he doesn't look confident and he doesn't like a professional quarterback.
Unless RG3 looks a whole lot better in the last two preseason games, right now I would feel a lot more comfortable seeing either Colt McCoy or Kirk Cousins as the starting Quarterback.
You have a good post here. All factual what you just said. You have to keep in mind that back in 2008, prior to Jim Zorn being hired, Jim Fassel was basically like a shoe-in for the HC job. However, if you listen to Fassel and don't think he's got an axe to grind for not getting the job, he has claimed several times that he was asked to be HC, at the point that all of his other coaches / assistants were already hired. He was also not given any autonomy on players / personnel, and he says basically they wanted him to coach the team even though all the decisions were being made for him.
He allegedly turned it down when he learned that he would basically have no input on players / etc, and that is at the point that Jim Zorn was promoted to HC, as he had already been hired to be Fassel's OC. To me, Fassel has always came off as respectable and not an ego guy, so i think he is telling the truth. And if you revisit the timeline, it all makes sense.
So basically to sum up - probably 90% certainty that Dan Snyder is still telling "his guys" - to make it known who plays and who doesn't play, etc...

I can't agree with you that we don't have a QB. Not yet, anyway. In the little I've seen of Kirk this year, he looks improved. Until he gets another shot, I'm not ready to write him off.
As for Scot marching forward building the rest of the team, we have a good man there. Furthermore, I clearly recall Mike Shanahan saying that Snyder doesn't care about any position on the team except QB, so Scot should have free rein in building most of the team. But will Snyder once again insert himself into the process of selecting any first round QB we might draft? I just can't envision Snyder allowing Scot to make that decision on his own.

This. It's a very real possibility we wipe the slate clean at QB next year and start over.

As long as Scott is on board that's all I care about. It would be hard to believe he would have signed on otherwise.
I believe Scott was on board with it when he was hired, but now after watching VY2 in practice and in these first 2 preseason games and seeing he doesnt look any different,I suspect now he is no longer on board but has put himself in the position of having to stay on board and go down with the ship.We will see how it pans out.
I know the mob doesn't want to hear it but you can't pull the plug on Griffin this early. Unless he can't play due to injury you have to give him a real shot and see how things play out into the season. This is the spot we're in... buckle up.
