Very true. I guess some players Gibbs feels like he can change and others (FredEx) are not worth the fight.

Some players are also just not very good in practice situations. Take Jeff Garcia for example, he does pretty well on the field, but rumor has it he never looks good in practice. I think the adrenaline really helps some players. excel.

Either way, I hope to see a bit more of him and not JUST in the red zone. He's a good over the middle target and Ramsey seems to have a nice rapport with him.

Because he's a dipshit.

Honestly, I don't remember why he got that. Apparently some marketing genius thought it was clever to call him FredEx.

A lot of good that did for his career. Shortly after FredEx is created, FredEx is given his walking papers.

What worries me about Mccants is that he had just received a new contract when Gibbs was unhappy with his work ethics. Is this just because Gibbs expected more out of him than the previous coaches and he just did not adjust? Did he just take it for granted that he would see more playing time after his performance in 2003? which was good but nothing great. Or has he always been a little lazy and just relied on his skills. You would think Gibbs must see something in him or he would not still be with our team after being inactive for 10 games and not playing special teams.

No matter what caused the lack of work, I think Gibbs has sent the message: work hard or sit. Now if McCants doesn't work hard enough he can only blame himself, Gibbs has made it clear what he expects. And from the sounds of things, McCants is looking to earn his playing time the hard way. It's just another sign of the team-wide attitude adjustment that is taking place under Gibbs.

Sounds like Gibbs sat him down and said, "here's what you've gotta do if you want to play"--Gibbs is pretty straight up about that, I think. But obviously, with Gardner likely gone, the door is wide open for McCants. Gibbs signed him looking at tape from Spurrier, but my guess is at practice and at camp, he wasn't impressed with the work ethic. And that's a huge deal for Gibbs.

McCants could really help us if he gets it going. I take it that's why they gave him the new deal. He's got the tools if he can motivate, and it sounds like he's getting motivated. But talk is cheap. We'll see...

Yeah and you just know the only reason Mitchell has any interest in being a Redskin is so he can promote himself as "Fredex At Fedex!!!" and get more endorsement cash.
