Worth It?monk81 05-08-2005, 07:55 PM NONE OF THE ABOVE. And I thank God that NO ONE selected Freddie Mitchell  wolfeskins 05-08-2005, 08:01 PM boldin, he has good hands, he's young... i'm with that guy. BossHog 05-08-2005, 08:26 PM None of the above. We need to worry about gettting Jacobs up to speed. :oink: jdlea 05-08-2005, 08:42 PM I like Boldin and Walker. I would go after either if they became available. We don't have a true number 1 and either of them would provide that. I, personally, like Walker more. He was my brother's fantasy team. Anyway, they're both holding out because they deserve more money. jdlea 05-08-2005, 08:43 PM None of the above. We need to worry about gettting Jacobs up to speed. :oink:  aprius 05-09-2005, 02:00 AM Jevon Walker and Anquan Boldin are young up and comers that I would love to sign to a long extension. Both are probably staying right where they are. TO is a future HOF WR who in their right mind doesnt want him? But we cant afford him in this lifetime. Boston is not worth the thought. He is only good on steroids. I would rather have Koren Robinson and a bunch of stickum so he stops dropping everything. Mitchell is a promising young kid with good hands and great speed that needs to work on route running. He is all we can afford right now. Peter Warrick has very good speed, bad injury history and unreliable hands so dont anyone bring him up as an option. e16bball 05-09-2005, 04:02 AM I would take David Boston in a heartbeat for what he is going to end up getting paid. He is only 27, which means he has at least 6 good years left at WR, and he could be incredible if he stops getting injured. He is a really impressive combination of size and speed, and has the strength to be a guy who can make plays in short-yardage. I don't buy the "he is only good when juicing" argument. He was awesome in college, before juice (the BJ period if you willl) and I think he had somewhere in the vicinity of 90 catches, 1500 yards, and over 10 TDs his senior year. Not to mention the fact that he was pretty decent his rookie year before anyone believes he was on steroids. If nothing else, he is a good risk for the low contract he is going to get. I'd like to think we have the infrastructure to keep him focused, and if he is going from top-10 pick and Pro-Bowler to vet minimum one-year deal, he may well have something to prove. The guy has shown he can be a big-time force in the league, which is more than any other WR on our team can say, Moss included. He would be a nice fit split out wide because he can definitely take on the jam from the more physical corners and let Moss/Patten/Jacobs deal with the more finesse CBs or come from the slot. Just by that presence he would improve our team, and I honestly think if he avoids injury he can be dominant again. And hey, if we sign him and he sucks, there's no real long-term ramifications because it will be a one-year deal. FRPLG 05-09-2005, 09:32 AM Guys...Boston is worthless at this point. At best he is a league minimum guy and even then I wouldn't sign him based on the fact that he is a total screw up. He ran himself out of Arz after injuries and attitude problems and then ran himself out of SD with a lack of production and injury problems and then got suspended for jucing it. He shows a remarkable ability to make BAD decisions and be a complete idiot. Sounds like just what we need! MTK 05-09-2005, 10:01 AM Guys...Boston is worthless at this point. Not a Gibbs type player in the least bit. dirtbag2112 05-09-2005, 10:04 AM I too, have to say none of the above. Boldin and Walker are both going on to be good but they are both holding out for contracts. Give me someone who shuts his mouth and plays football!!! |
