You're right. Lost my head there. I was in "NFL Blitz mode".

that is true. moss will be #1, jacobs #2, and patten #3.

What about Gardner? Has there been any news on him? I've been away for a couple of days.

5 WR + 1 RT + 1 RG + 1 C + 1 LG + 1 LT + 1 QB + Cooley = 12 men on the field penalty.

i think we picked up TE kashetta from B.C. and is a gibbs type player as far as work ethic is concerned...and he has yet to be released as a UFA. he is a good short area receiver and a much better blocker than royal. royal is just more fluid. i think that would be a nice one two punch and hopefully kashetta makes the team. back to the main purpose of the thread... i like taylor alot and even though alot of florida wr's are usually a bust, (ike hilliard, willie jackson, ridell anthony) just to name a few. taylor is a good size and does have speed/agility to make it. i think he will fit in nicely as a #2 and hopefully work his way up.

Dude - get a clue. One, we drafted him because he was by far the best player available. Set to be a first round pick and a good starting receiver, but got the flu for the combine, and obviously, put up bad numbers which dropped him. I mean, Gibbs really had to fish in the 2nd round and scout his ass off to figure out who this kid was... Oh! Oops! That's right, Spurrier drafted him, everyone around the draft knew him, knew he put up big numbers in college, and was said to be a playmaker coming out of college.

Yo man, you need to chill out, no need to get upset on the board. We are all Skins fans here.

i think you guys are under estimating the ability of patten. remember patten was the first wr we picked up when free agency started and he was the second pick up following only casey rabach. i've said it before and i'll say it again "don't be surprised if patten leads the skins in receptions this year". he is a very good wr, he practices hard, studies film and is a veteran of the game. he's fast, he's quick and he has good hands.
out of the three guys listed obove i would say patten is the best with moss second and jacobs third.

I'm rooting for the guy as much as anyone, but don't you think that by now, he'd have made some sort of statement, something to make the coaches say "WOW" and breaks into the starting lineup?

I know, I know. Injuries.

But come on. Injuries supposedly weren't a problem last year and he couldn't unseat Rod Gardner. There's got to be some sort of performance that leaves absolutely no doubt in the coaches mind that he needs to play now. Have we seen that?

I don't think so. But I'll jump on his bandwagon anyway. This is his last chance, and we'd better see something that really stands out -- and fast. The first preseason game, I'll be watching closely for him to do his stuff and make everybody wonder why he hasn't played more.

I agree with you about Patten. I saw alot of him when I lived in Boston and he is a proven NFL WR. He is a spark plug type, kind of reminds me of Gary Clark, in the sense that he is small but tough.

Include me in the group of, 'I would like to see Jacobs play well and have a breakout year'. I do not question his speed, hands or ability to run patterns. I do question his toughness. He came out of college with whispers about his possible lack of toughness.
I am a little negatively biased about Jacobs toughness, because the only game I saw Jacobs play in college (I forget the opponent), Jacobs took a good hit to his back from the DB while trying to catch a pass. He went down and had to helped off the field. Jacobs did not return until a good quarter or more. When Jacobs finally did return to the game he played scared and was a non-factor in the rest of that game. So to see him as Redskin be a non-factor, injury prone player, it is all I have seen from him.

How is Jacob's blocking? Maybe that is/was an issue. Somebody mentioned he couldn't out-seat Gardner. Maybe it's because Gardner was a better blocker. Everyone can see that Joe Gibbs goes silly with the blocking. Maybe he'll open it up though. His max protect scheme didn't pan out. He'll adjust.
