After the interview with Jansen, Cowherd mentioned Jansen wants to get into broadcasting.
He has been in the media alot lately. Why would he be focused on that right now? He should have at least 5+ years left. Hope he has fully recovered from his injury.

Never to early to start thinking what you want to do after football or whatever. He still has a lot of years left in him.

I think his injury gave him a chance to get his foot in the door. Living in SD, you probably didn't see the weekly spots Jansen had a DC area news station last year. He probably didn't seek out the job, rather it sought him. He is a clean cut guy with a decent personality, so its really a natural fit.
I don't think he's looking too far down the road. I'm sure that he wants to win more than anybody this year.

Jansen is good for a while. Everyone thinks down the road; hes not "focused" on anything yet. I dont take anything from this.

I'd rather see him on ESPN than Micheal Irving.

I tore my Achilles on Feb 27, so I can definitely appreciate what Jansen is going through to get back on the field. I've been in a cast and on crutches for two months, I'm finally in a walking boot and I'm ecstatic. Trust me, Jansen has had a LOT of time to reflect on what he wants to do after football. But he definitely has a lot of football left, he's a rock and his return should really spark our line to perform a lot better.

It's becoming more and more common for athletes to spend their off-time doing broadcasting, even when they're far from retiring as an athlete. It makes a lot of sense, when you consider that they never know when their athletic career might come to a screeching halt.
Jansen's just getting a jump start on his prospective broadcasting career, and he'll be much better for it when he finally does decide to hang it up (which, hopefully, won't be for a long time), or he has no choice.
Watching him on the ESPN draft day special the past couple of years, he definitely has a frank and honest nature, which is entertaining and makes for good TV or radio, especially when he's paired up with a butthead like Romanowski.

When your the size of Jansen you can be frank and honest and not worry about stepping on people's toes!!!
