I'm happy with this pick, we r building a foundation just like SF did.

Hopefully it doesn't end with an overthrown fade route in the Super Bowl like the 49ers.

Here's a write up from my favorite local fan site.

I hope the first thing he does in camp is walk up to Ribeus and call him a pussy.

Bingo. Time for a new tone. Trent, Scherff, Pot Roast, Hatcher... I want to see them with fingers in people's face telling them how it's gonna be.

I want them so loud and forceful that Rob doesn't even need to lead.

I really like it.

4 positives:

- we took BPA
- fills huge need at RT where we didnt have a starter
- provides some insurance if trent does not agree to an extension
- leadership, apparently the guy was a permanent captain at iowa

really wish we could lock trent up long term in the near future.

his write ups remind me of Brian Balaugas.

I love the impact this has on the running game. In previous seasons we've gotten very predictable when it's been 3rd & short or goalline situations. We always run behind Trent. And why wouldn't we, he was the only one that could consistently clear a path. In 2012 we got away with it because the read option had DEs staying home. But with our move away from it, teams have known that when we need to run, it goes behind Trent.

But now on 3rd & short when everyone knows we're likely to run, they'll have to guess which side it's going to. It causes the defense to spread its resources across the entire formation, increasing the chances of success everywhere along the line, especially directly in front of Trent.

I think this makes Trent an even better run blocker because of the easier road he'll face.

“And I know Jay Gruden a little bit. He wants to bring back some of the history of the Redskins, and if you want to do that, you’ve gotta have the Hogs, man. And Brandon Scherff, a very complete offensive tackle at Iowa that has been well-trained by [Hawkeyes Coach] Kirk Ferentz, will bring something to the Redskins that the Redskins haven’t had in a long time.”

Love this quote from Jon Gruden.

If Gregory and Collins are available tomorrow when the Redskins pick, who would you pick? Both have red flags. Collins would solidify the OL.

I would take Collins if he's 100 percent in the clear. You can put him in at LG and we're on our way to getting back to some serious o-line play.

Sadly, he won't be 100 percent clear until after the draft. Which sucks for him if he indeed had nothing to do with what happened.
