I think he's a little too hung up on the name "fullback". Good point. Plus a big reason they were selected was to shore up special teams, and aside from the kicker, punter, holder, and returner, everyone essentially plays the same position on special teams-whether you're a WR, CB, FB, whatever celts32 05-04-2005, 09:55 AM LOL!!! Couldn't agree more.... of course the problem with the article is that the guy fails to recognize that Gibbs will be turning the "fullbacks" into an H-back and short-yardage back. I think he's a little too hung up on the name "fullback". This is exactly what I was thinking when I read this. Gibbs is hoping he can convert at least one of those FB's into a quality H-Back. I didn't love the Redskins draft but that guy who wrote that review doesn't know what the hell he's talking about. dirtbag2112 05-04-2005, 10:37 AM I'm wondering what will be said about the redskins when we DO have a winning season. will it be a fluke? will our front office still be scrutinized? I could care less about hacks like this guy. Just like all the pinheads saying Gibbs was one and done. Daseal 05-04-2005, 11:51 AM If everyone is like the one guy I know from KFFL they all love the Chargers and hate the skins. I think we were in the bottom half of the draft, but not the very worst. I feel we got real quality players in Rogers, Campbell, and McCune. I don't like how the first round went, but those are still two very talented players (and I think we very well may have gotten THE BEST DB in the draft.) skinsguy 05-04-2005, 01:26 PM It's just another reason to pile up on the Washington Redskins. If the Redskins have a great season, the very same guys will be praising the team's moves during the off-season. Grayacre 05-04-2005, 02:25 PM the pats get a b- even though they picked up 6 players with no possible starters among them and maybe 1 that will see a decent amount of playing time this year (Ellis hobbs - CB 2nd round) we get a d- even though we have 2 possible starters (MLB, CB) and another that'll see a bunch of playing time (short yardage)... we spent 4 picks on 2 positions, but i figure thats mainly because the hit rate during the 2nd day is so much lower that we could use some insurance... I agree that the KFFL guy is a bit off, but I'm not sure that comparing our draft grade w/the Pats' grade is the best evidence. Given last season's results, does it really mean much that their draft picks aren't likely to start and ours are? Shouldn't a 6-10 team naturally have more upgrading to do than the reigning champs? offiss 05-04-2005, 03:05 PM My thought on who had the best draft goes like this, Chargers, cowboy's, and I really like what the Jet's did, the Jets you ask? ADDRESSED THEIR NEED'S! Daseal 05-04-2005, 03:45 PM It's just another reason to pile up on the Washington Redskins. If the Redskins have a great season, the very same guys will be praising the team's moves during the off-season. We also have to remember - KFFL looks through things with a fantasy football twist. That's why our defense is ranked 7th or 8th on their list. We're a good defense, but not great as far as fantasy points are concerned. |
