Was going back and listening to some podcasts from ESPN 980. In his interview with Cooley from July 12, Jonathan Allen says they are playing a 2 gap technique in the 3-4 defense.
I thought they made a switch to single gap when Barry took over. Have I missed something since Barry was fired?
And if this is the case, it could really change the value of a NT in the defense.

IMO Redskins played single gap out of necessity. We did not have strong enough DL that could play 2 gap successfully. We could not play 2 gap last year.
We went into last season with one of the worst interior D-lines ever.
We came out of training camp with freaking Kedric Goldston at 301 pounds as our starting NT. I knew that day we were not making the playoffs.
