53Fan 04-24-2015, 11:28 PM The NFL Draft is just a week away. And this mock may the best yet in terms of what Washington Redskins fans have been asking for.
NFL.com’s Daniel Jeremiah revealed his first two-round mock draft on Tuesday.
At No. 5 overall, Jeremiah has the Redskins selecting Clemson edge rusher Vic Beasley.
“Beasley is the most explosive edge rusher in the draft,” said Jeremiah.
With the No. 38 overall selection, Jeremiah has the ‘Skins picking Oregon offensive tackle Jake Fisher.
“Fisher could start at right tackle from Day 1 and provide insurance at left tackle.”

Does this give anyone the warm and fuzzies?

Two trench players. I can't hate it.
I want a tone set on this team. Jay Gruden's passion can only do so much, a tone has to be set from the trenches. Hard hitting, tough, relentless football. It's contagious and will breed a culture that will take us in the right direction finally.
KI Skins Fan 04-25-2015, 12:13 PM I'm wondering if any team has looked at Vic Beasley as an ILB. He's a great athlete who I think could surely cover TE's. He's aggressive, he's a good tackler, he has the speed to go sideline to sideline making plays, and we know he can rush the passer.
If Beasley were to be paired with Keenan Robinson, they could be a top-notch ILB tandem, IMO.

I personally dont think you take a guy away from his strength, especially when that strength is at a premium in the NFL. Beasley is best at rushing the passer, which he would only do on an occasional blitz from the MLB position. Taking him from a pass rusher to someone that covers TEs comes across as a mistake to me. Seems that it would be similar to moving Trent to RT so we could say we solved the RT position.

Agree whole heartedly Schneed. It's been a long time since the trenches have been seriously addressed and it's shown. Time to get back to hardnosed football instead of just trying to get by with substandard players while trying to address other positions that couldn't possibly live up to their potential while playing behind guys that would be lucky to even make another teams roster. It's time to get nasty!
53Fan 04-25-2015, 01:16 PM I don't see Beasley permanently changing from OLB to playing inside, but TM, VB, KR, and RK lined up together at certain times would surely be interesting.

I'm sure you're right. I'm a bit hung up on his lack of ideal size for 3-4 OLB, although that hasn't hindered Von Miller or Elvis Dumervil. His first step, speed and quickness are very impressive. Plus he had excellent production in college.
Alvin Walton 04-25-2015, 09:44 PM If this guy falls to us in the 2nd I would snatch him.

At least its this week. I wonder if there is any chance next year they move it back to mid April or earlier. I don't understand why they want it this far back.
